I had a BOY! Last night (Feb. 4th) at about 3 am, local time, we welcomed into our family the sweetest, most delicious little boy!
I woke up at 5ish am on the 3rd with pink mucous and, eventually, some contractions and unable to go back to sleep. It was my longest labor, and probably my hardest. I had a long lull in the labor when my dh and dds were out during the day on Sunday, but things picked up right away when they returned.
: By the time the kids were in bed, I was soooo tired and just wanted to rest. Around 11 or 12, I drank a glass of wine, hoping I could get some sleep. Instead, the contractions just continued while I was a little drunk. I felt "pushy" for hours, but didn't really feel I was making any progress. Finally, during my third shower session, I reached inside and felt the bulging bag of waters while pushing with all my might. I broke it open with my finger and, after a while, started to feel baby moving down. I pushed his head out while standing outside the shower and birthed my baby right into my hands. He has a very molded head; my girls' heads didn't look molded at all. I was trying to push him out for so long! The girls woke up while I was pushing him out and we all hung out for a while. Everyone else is sleeping now (6:39 am here), but I'm still high on all the hormones.
