Ok so I am a little late on this, but better now then never

Jacob Daniel Reginald Richard was born on January 14, 2008 at 12:19pm. He weighed in at 6lb 9oz and 21 inches. I had mild contractions all day on the Sunday, they would be regular for a few hours, then stop. At 7pm I went to my friends house for a Reflexology treatment and they got to every 15 min and I was starting to breath through them. At 10:30 I called my Mom to come up, she lives an hour away, and the big ones started a midnight. I tried to sleep and it didn't work the contractions were getting stronger. At 4am I lost my plug and I thought my water was leaking too. DH packed up DD and we all drove to the hospital. DH dropped my Mom and I off to take DD to the sitters and he got there 20 min later. I was 4-5cm and my water hadn’t broken unit the nurse checked told me know and turned to leave, they it broke all over the bed. I laughed and said 'you want to test again?'. I got into a room at 6:30 and I was 7-8cm. I was so excited, with DD I didn't progress on my own and was on Pictocin. I then stalled at 8cm for 4 hours, not fun!. I hadn’t slept in 32 hours and I wasn't handling my contractions well and I finally broke down at 11am for an Epi. Epi's scare me so bad, so this was a MAJOR decision. I had DD on a full induction, 25 hours and no meds, so I knew I could do it, but I was too tired to relax my butt. Anyways, when they were putting in the Epi, I had a major contraction and felt pushy, I pushed a little and felt a loss of fluids, when they checked I was fully dilated. I started to relax and I felt the baby moved down, my cervix had finally let him down and 3 pushes later, he was out!

His apagars were 9-9-9, but he was shaky, his sugars were low. They let us BF and snuggle to help them, but they dropped even more, so he was admitted into NICU. He was on IV glucose to help him regulated for 4 days and then became Jaundice and went under the lights for 24 hours. I was so stressed, I was away from DD, I'd never been away from her before, but DH was amazing! We have been home for just over 2 weeks and he is doing great! He is BF like a champ, DD was on the nipple shield for 19 months, and he is latching normally, what a relief! Other then a cold that scared me enough to take him to the ER last night, all is well!

Wow, what a super fast pushing stage! So glad to hear the birth went well and that your ds is nursing like a champ. Enjoy!
