about baby products

I have a 4 1/2 month old ds and we have been i the process of "greening up" our stuff. I have switched to cloth diapers and am now looking for good earth friendly baby products. I am curious about what baby products you all are using b/c the ones that I have found so far have been really expensive. What is a good brand for a reasonable price?

What do you mean by baby products?

I make my own diaper spray to use with cloth wipes (purified water, chamomile essential oil)

We use castile soap for baths (dr bronners diluted)

DS got some Burt's Bees baby powder for Christmas but up til then we never used it (just let him air dry or with fleece lined diapers he was dry anyway)

When his bottom looks a little red I have a sweet almond oil/chamomile essential oil/calendula infused oil that I rub on it that I mixed myself.

Anything else you were thinking of?

Nope, thats about it. I have some Dr Bonner's ... is it tear free. I think I would need a tear free shampoo b/c I have a serious wiggle worm when it come to bath time. How do you make the almond oil /chamomile/calendula mix for the redness? Thanks for the info

Yes, I think the Bronner's is tear free (my DS cries when the water goes over his face but he does that even before I put soap in his hair).

For the oil mix I have a 2 oz squirt bottle that I put maybe 5-10 drops of the chamomile essential oil (it's expensive but it lasts a long time...in 8 months I still have a lot left and I use it for lots of other things as well, like in his bath, in a lightbulb ring if he's fussy at night, etc.) and then maybe 1-2 teaspoons of the calendula infused oil. Then I fill the bottle up with the Sweet almond oil. It seems to work really well for skin irritation. HTH!

BTW I ordered all the ingredients and bottles from www.lavenderlane.com and from www.naturesgift.com

I forgot to add that I put in a bit of oil...either calendula or almond I think and a bit of bronners (maybe 1/2 tsp of each for 8 oz) in with my diaper wipes spray.

i really like weleda products. they are expensive at full price but you can sometimes find deals directly from their website and also you can subscribe to their newsletter or pick it up in some stores and get coupons. if you combine their $2 off coupons with store sales sometimes you can get great deals.

i like all the weleda products i have ever tried.
