Stone cleaner and sealer

Our stone steps outside are covered in a thin film of moss, which is slippery and getting dangerous when wet. I want to clean off the moss and then seal the stone to keep it from growing again.

Any thoughts on cleaners?

What about using a wiry brush first and then a finer brush after that. I'd use a mix of water soap and salt. Good Luck!
