How old are you?

How old are you?
How old were you when you started having kids?
How old are your kids now?
How old are your friends?

I keep expecting to become friends with some of the mothers at my daughters's various activities, but I'm usually the youngest one there. This seems weird to me, since I'm 30. My three daughters are 8,6 and 4. I was 21 when I had my first.
I have some friends that are 20, some that are 50 and all ages in between. Age doesn't matter as much to me as personality and values. But I'm curious as to the ages of our mamas here on MDC. What about you?

I'm the youngest in my friend's circle, so my friends are between the age of 30 to 55 really, mostly becuase of DH who's 40.

How old are you? 34, i'll be 35 in a couple of months.
How old were you when you started having kids? 23 when i gave birth to my son
How old are your kids now? My son is 11. I'm adopting as well, and may be adopting an 8 yr old soon.
How old are your friends?um, uh...well i dont really have "friends" right now. I mostly hang out with my brother and sister, they are 2.5 and 8 yrs older than me, respectively. But when i lived elsewhere and hung out w/ people from work they were usually about my age or older. I always felt younger than everyone for some reason. Like, not so "grown up"...even the other moms in our former HS group seemed so much more grown up than me. I dunno why!

How old are your friends? Early 20's - mid 50's.

I don't really have close friends because, well, I don't want to I don't have time and I prefer to be alone or with family. The person who comes closest to being a close friend is 47.

How old are you? I'm 34

How old were you when you started having kids? I was 21 when I had my daughter

How old are your kids now? Dd is 13 and ds turned 9 today

How old are your friends? I have 3 very close friends...one is 27, one is 37 and one is 34 like me

I may be right in the middle of my friends regarding age but my dd is the oldest of all of our 8 kids in total. I've always found myself to be younger than most of the other parents of my kids friends, its just something I've gotten used to.

I am 26
I got pg the first time at 22 (married at 22) and finally carried to term the first time when I was 25...but my oldest child (adopted dh's son) was born when I was 18... so he wasn' tmine till I was 22, but he was 3.5yo at the time!
My kids are 7 and 1...buncha miscarriages in there made for the gap. We plan on more as well...
My friends vary...I am friends with some of my mom's friends just because I grew up with them. I have some friends who have kids my son's age--so they are mostly 5-10 years older than me. I also have a few friends my age, but most of their kids are on the younger end (like my baby)

I agree, likemindedness is far more important than age.
I believe that souls are eternal, so I believe that our souls are all ancient...and the reletive ages of our bodies are such a transient (and unimportant) thing. One reason I dislike public school is the way it forces children into age-sorting...that's so unrealistic in the real world!

everyone who doesn't have many friends! I can be your friend! Having no friends is lonely I find, but I don't really like to be alone much. I love having my friends around me all the time! You can never have too many friends!

It can be really hard to click with the right mamas when you're the youngest.

In my case, I'm usually the mama of the oldest kid, whether or not I'm the oldest mom, in our HS and other groups. That changes the dynamic, since my kids are usually available for set up, clean up, and general kid-type helping throughout parties and events...and having little ones also changes things. Most of my hsing friends have large families, though, so at least our family dynamic isn't too unreal!

I just turned 36 last week, and my kids are (Step Dd) turning 16 tomorrow, 15, 12, 6, 4, and 2.

I'm also of an age where we don't usually ask each other how old we are...for some reason, I only know that one of my girlfriends is 37...I have no clue about the rest of them, or even how old her husband is!

love, penelope

How old are your kids now? 2.5
How old are your friends? mostly range in age frorm 20-60

I tend to have more in common with older friends.

I'm the odd one out anyhow cause I'm single. Most young moms I know are still into partying and i"m not, and i don't have a sitter if I was. My parents are older, so they can't take my child over night all the time like works for most single parents I know.

How old are you?
I turn 32 this spring.

How old were you when you started having kids?
I had my first at 15, and my second at 17.

How old are your kids now?
My son is 16 and my daughter is 14.

How old are your friends?
Most of my adult friends are in my age range but a bit older. A few are younger, but not by much. I consider the kids I am close to be my friends as well, so I have lots of young friends of many ages.

Most of my friends have been my friends for a good long time, and I met them either before having kids or when my kids were little. It can be tough to make new friends...and I am a bit hermit like so I naturally don't have tons of opportunities for that. I agree that values and personality are more important than age, but sometimes those things can be connected. It just depends.
