Titers

Sorry if this has been covered, but does anyone know if titers are offered to find out what immunities your child have? Specifically if military medical centers offer them and if not if we can either ask to have it done or go somewhere that does do them? sorry but my mom and I were talking about her horses and that she gets titers for them and asked me if I was able to get titers done on my daughter and I told her I had no idea but I would summon you all. Please, if anyone has any info, I'd love to know.

Thanks

I did have a Tetanus Antitoxoid AB, EIA test done to show that I had immunity. I just asked my primary care doctor to write a rx for it. I took it to the lab and didn't have any problems. I've also heard of others getting titers done for other things also. Hope this helps...

Most kids to have immunity to most childhood diseases by age 14.
Before that they are building immunity.

I don't trust titres completely to show whether a body is immune or not.

There have been cases where fully immune people got the disease and non-immune didn't.
