FO: funky handspun yak scarf for SIL

This scarf designed to look like a tree started out as a bag of carded yak down. I spun it and plied it into a simple light weight three ply. I then knit it up on size six needles.

Very unique, I love how it really looks "treeish" (lol is that a word?).
Did you write a pattern or just make it up as you went?
What an amazing gift your SIL is lucky.
