Daily Check In, Feb 5 - Page 2

For the last couple of weeks I have been slow and grouchy because I have felt like I was lacking oxygen because baby was getting so big and seemed so high. The last couple of mornings I have woken up and felt like it is much easier to breathe so I'm positive he is moving down......

I looked at my ticker this morning and it said 20 days left! and my last baby was born 8 days early, so it is starting to feel surreal that I could possibly have a baby in less than 2 weeks....

Good morning, 40+3 weeks here! I felt a little crampy this morning, but other than that nothing! It is just weird going through your day to day life wondering, well.....when is it all going to start, and how!

It is a rainy day here too, actually, pouring with thunderstorms! It would be a good day for the ole bag of waters to break!

As soon as we get DS on the bus for kindergarten we are headed off to vote and run a few errands....maybe walking will stimulate something!

I will check back later and see what everyone is up to. Have a great day!

Applecore, we met with our doula last night and I mentioned hip pain from laying on my side while I slept and she said to try sleeping on a feather bed. I don't have a feather bed, but I folded up my down comforter and slept on that last night and it definately helped. I didn't wake up in the middle of the night having to move because the hip I was laying on was killing me. Maybe it will work for you?!

39 weeks, still in move in hell. Boxes everywhere. I cannot see my feet, or feel them for that matter because they're still so very swollen. Contractions have slowed since moving, but I'm 2 cm's dilated. Yesterday my OB stretched my membranes but it didn't appear to do anything anyway. I think this babe would like me to be relaxed before coming.

I'm now 39w 5d and not feeling like anything is going to happen anytime soon, although I would LOVE to meet this baby within the next few days!!!

I've been extraordinarily hungry for the past week - it's been strange! I've spent most of this pregnancy either with severe morning sickness or being pretty apathetic about food. Now all I want to do is eat. Speaking of which - egg salad is sounding really good at the moment... :

Baby is super active today - pushing his/her little feet out my right side. My mom is super-paranoid about me going into labor when I'm out with my four kids ... and we'll be seeing my mom and dad tonight at a church function, so I'm sure she'll be checking in a couple times to make sure I'm not having contractions! : I don't think she's forgiven me yet for having her drive me to my midwife (an hour away), to lunch, on a couple errands, and home WHILE I was in labor with Coren a couple years ago!

38w6d, still not much happening. I've been having cramps and contractions for at least a couple of weeks now, but nothing seems to be coming of them. I can only hope that they're doing a good job of getting everything ready to go whenever the "real deal" finally does get going.

I posted in detail here but the short version of my morning is that my midwife quit on me. I'm 39 weeks tomorrow. I've got *all the time in the world* to find someone else!

Also found out that baby is facing out. That explains the weird belly movements these last few days - but baby evidently still has plenty of room to move around so hopefully that will resolve itself.

Nasty icy rain here and of course it's voting day so I went out in it. One good thing happened today though - a lady from my husband's work surprised us with some organic prefolds. yay for diapers!

anjanetteopal: That must be so hard to loose your midwife last minute. Do you have back up plans.
Being 40 weeks and 4 days, I can totally relate to the hmmm when and how will I go into labor.
Just back from the chiro. I have been 4 times to do the webster in hopes of turning this baby from posterior to anterior, so far no luck.
Hope everyone sleeps better tonight...I am going to nap with my son in a few minutes, assuming he will nap.

working on the backup plans now...

at least it's a foregone conclusion that the baby *will* come. haha. Not like this will stop me from having a healthy baby, just have to make sure it doesn't stress me into having baby early!

I just got off the phone with a midwife in KS who is going to speak with friends and see if they can come up with any good ideas. Considering making a drive to a different city to be able to have baby in a birth center, too. We'll see.

37w4d.

tiniest bit of red spotting this afternoon. i have no idea if that means anything, but i'm paying attention, just in case. i am putting the final touches on baby preparation. all my bags and birth kit are sterilized, diapers are washed, folded and tucked away. i even went out this morning and bought my overnight bag -- told dh i REFUSED to take my stuff to the birth center in a grocery sack! so i got a cute little red suitcase and all i have to do is pack it!

I'm right there with you! 41 weeks 1 day for me and other than some crampiness and weird cervical pokes, it doesn't seem like anything is happening. It's been 65+ degrees here the last two days so I am going for some nice walks, not too long or my stomach muscles start to cramp (but no contractions-grr!) Still, it's nice to be out in the fresh air.

to all the mamas who are in pain and have swollen feet. I feel kind of bad that I am now 8 days overdue and have no swelling at all! My hips get achy at night from laying on on side too long, that usually goes away within an hour or two of getting up. Physically I feel like I could keep on going for another month or so, but I know that's not likely to happen, and my IPs are going nuts waiting for their son to get here! They have been great though about not bothering me and just waiting until labor starts on it's own. It just needs to start now, lol!

Probably just another round of prodromal labor that will fizzle out over here, but then again, maybe my kid is punctual...Lots of contrax all afternoon.

37 weeks still (counting in days right now seems a little silly to me)

Went to the midwife today. She scheduled me for an biophysical profile this week, but I wasn't paying much attention as to why. I told her that I had been having major anxiety attacks since I got home (and today was Chloe's birthday, so I was a wreck anyway), so I'm wondering if it had something to do with that. Guess I'll ask during the u/s.

Had some contractions last night, but nothing to get excited about. I'm mostly tired, but am having a hard time actually getting to sleep.

No baby for us today...now I am hoping that it all holds off until the weekend. Thursday is my DD's birthday and it would be very weird to have 2 kids on the same day!

I have had some mild very irregular contractions, but that is it! I have checked my cervix and I am still about 1cm and 50%. I see my midwife on Friday so I am sure she will want to check me and maybe stretch things out a bit...I have been taking the EPO orally and vaginally, but so far it does not seem to be doing much of anything!

I hope everyone has a peaceful and restful night (yea right!! )

alwaysbymyside- I'm sure this is a very difficult day for you. Take care of yourself and let your self process the whole thing. Loves of loving thoughts coming your way.

38w+2, and nothing happening. Still hoping to crank through a new Web site build at work, but we just met with the developers today and there is still a ton to do! I hope there is no psychological impact of wanting to see a project through to a more stable point before this baby comes...I hope Baby comes when s/he is gosh-darn ready!

Large and uncomfortable. Already wondering how soon I can jump on the NordicTrack after birth and start trying to get some muscles back and sweat out some of this water weight! I don't think I read anywhere, "You will feel like a swollen tick starting at about 36 weeks." Sigh.

But nothing - no signs other than lots of B-H.

Still here, 39w3d. Tomorrow will be the longest I've been pregnant with any of my kids. I feel like this little one is going to be stubborn and never come out
