Argh! Flooded basement!

How frustrating. We have a partially finished basement, that has been water-proofed. Of all things, the DRAIN in the unfinished part backed up during a storm last night! The water didn't come from around the walls, but up through this drain. Luckily the finished part was wet only a tiny bit. But I have my entire pantry down there and boxes and boxes of unused canning jars. Those boxes are all now just soaking wet.

I guess I'm going to have to figure out another way to store my jars as those cardboard boxes are no longer usable. Any ideas?

I have a section of my shelving that is just for jar storage. Some of them are still in their boxes. I learned that everything needed to be up off the floor to avoid a repeat flood situation. I can definitely relate to your frustrations, hope you get some drying out weather

Thanks Sly... I don't know if I can fit shelving anywhere else. I have an extensive pantry, so I may just have to have the first layer of jars out of a box and then put cardboard between them. Hmmm... new problem to deal with.

With 3 fans down there, hopefully it will dry out soon. Thanks!
