Xylitol Brand Toothpaste For Toddlers?

Another Xylitol question.... I don't think this has been addressed yet.

I want to use a Xylitol toothpaste on my 20 mo old. I use Spry but the mint flavor seems too strong for him (since he is used to the fruity stuff we have been using).

Is there a Xylitol Brand for toddlers you could recommend? I can't seem to find one. I have found a handful of mainstream brands that advertise having Xylitol in them but have such trace amounts that they may not be effective enough.

Any thoughts? Any specific brand recommendations?

We still use Spry Infant tooth gel to brush our 4 yo's teeth based on WAPF dentist rec. Also b/c it doesn't have glycerin to coat teeth and prevent remineralization. It has no flavoring but just tastes sweet.

I just ordered a bunch of stuff, including the spry, but in the meantime.... I just went to the health food store and bought straight xylitol packets. I am sprinkling it on her toothbrush. I actually sprinkled it over her toothpaste. I used it too, and it made it very tasty. It foamed a lot though, so expect that. Emma liked it, and actually let me brush without a fight last night.

My boys are four and we use the spry infant gel too. They have really good teeth. I believe part of that is genetics but the dentist was quite pleased with how clean and strong they seemed. And all they use for toothpaste is xylitol gel. I'm liberal with it but think it's great and works well as an alternative to paste. I've not found one that is ok otherwise in ingredients.

Thanks for the feedback mammas! I am using the Spry Infant Gel now too. I guess I was looking to graduate to something different, but I didn't think about just sticking with it and using it long term.

I also just got some Xylitol graduals so I'll probably use it a few times a week for a more concentrated scrub! Thanks so much for the feedback!

We use Xyliwhite at home. The cinnamon flavour seems to be a favourite.

We use the spearment flavor from Epic Dental. Jack loooooooves it. He calls it 'minty bubbles'. I know they make mints and gum in fruit flavor (tastes like juicy fruit) that would be a good choice if they make it in toothpaste.

(also there is an older post on this page with a coupon code to save half on your first epic order)

Or...my ds would not let us use SPRY mint. Too hot, he says, so my mom bought Tom's of Maine Strawberry [fluoride-free].

She puts a film of the Infant Gel on the toothbrush first, then the Strawberry stuff, dips that in Xylitol crystals and then another strip of the SPRY gel; ds loves it. And is very co-operative about getting his teeth brushed.

Then we finishing with the Xylitol water, wiping it inside his cheeks, in the roof of his mouth, his tongue and we don't let him drink any water for at least 30 min.

We do it at nap and night-time, so usually he falls asleep while reading him stories and the Xylitol is on his teeth.

Another plus for using Xylitol is ds had an intestinal bug that gave him vomiting and diarrhea, I took him to the doctor who checked him for dehydration. He told me the Xylitol was keeping plenty of saliva in his mouth helping to prevent dehydration.
