Seriously? Breech?

2 weeks ago I had the 36 week ultrasound at my OBs which confirmed my midwife's guess that the baby is head down. Last week my midwife couldn't really pin point how the baby was orientated, then decided that she was posterior. Then today at 38 weeks she's breech! There is no heartbeat anywhere low, only at the top of my uterus. So, damn! I didn't want to have to see my OB, and now I have to have an ultrasound. I declined a vaginal check because they hurt. I thought my regular OB appointment was tomorrow but it was today, and I missed it. They used to be on the same day of the week and now they like to change it up on me and I can't keep track.
So I've called my OB trying to get in today because I've also been having a lot of Braxton contractions, like a lot. They are telling me to wait until the 14th. Which I can't, my midwife won't deliver me if the baby is breech, I need to know where I stand.
I'm officially losing my mind.
Then when I start to think about external versions and the chance for emergency sections, and how many doctors won't let me attempt a vaginal birth if this baby is breech. AHHHH!
I don't want to try any at home remedies yet until she's confirmed breech. SO I am going crazy.
Plus if I don't get to home birth, I will never hear the end of it from my DHs nosy evil family.
grrr..... I need to go and yell at someone.

Major bummer! I was so worried about having a breech baby this time around, if we had and had wanted to try natural childbirth we would have had to drive 1-2 hours to a hospital that has a dr that will even attempt it. It's such a lost art and it's such a disservice to women and babies. I sooo don't get why it's a mandatory c-section!

I know! You would think that it's better for everyone to let a mama try!

Anyhow I insisted that my doctor let me in, since there was a chance I was breech and having contractions, and my doctor said "come in now!" (she's so nice, it's the nurses that are less ready to whisk me in)
Anyhow a had an ultrasound and she's head down. I just have too much tissue (fat) for my midwife to feel properly. But YAY everything's a go, which is nice. But I think I need to relax, such a stressful day!

Good news to hear mama, it always drives me nuts that most OB;s wont do a breech, I was a breech baby 35 years ago!!!! There is a MW in my state whose specialty is breech. Lucky the mama who has/needs her assistance!

That's great that they got you in and she is head down.

Keep on top of your fetal positioning stuff, just in case. There's always a chance that the midwife wasn't wrong and she's still flipping
