i'm freaking!

it may sound stupid but i am still freaking! we took in a stray dog a few days ago and then the weather turned super cold so we brought her inside. we discovered today that she has ticks! several of them. they are already filled with blood- we found one on the floor. i am 6 weeks along and have had 6 miscarriages so i am scared something will happen this time too. does anyone know anything about this?

I don't know of any specific relation between tick bites or diseases they might carry and pregnancy complications.

Did you have any ticks imbedded? Cause they can't/won't cause you any harm if they haven't imbedded in you! So, first thing have your husband help you to do a thorough tick check on yourself. Or maybe the first thing is to have your ds or someone bath the dog with tick shampoo to get rid of any s/he might still be carrying. Then vacuum thoroughly.

All that said, I'll bet you will be fine, if only because it sounds like the ticks were pretty happy on the dog and are probably already full. Good luck on your pregnancy!
