Today for me...

oatmeal & scrambled eggs, skim milk
brown rice & black beans w/ cheese, lettuce, tomato, 2 corn tortillas
handful of grapes
hot chocolate made with skim milk

That's it so far. I'm feeling hungry and need to go have a healthy snack, but what? Off to find something...

Ended up with a toasted whole wheat bagel with peanut butter and a glass of skim milk. I'm craving milk like crazy these days which is so unlike me.

Guys, I'm still misery personified. Yesterday I had a nice nausea free day, but today it's back (not as bad, but it's still there).

And I am in SUCH a foul mood.

Sesame bagel - dry, picked at about 1/3 of it.
Sour candy - 1
Rice - white with some soy sauce. I ate about a forkful, gagged. Threw it out.
Saltines - 3
2 small orange slices
Bolthouse Farms Perfectly Protein drink - trying to drink this. It's got 19g of protein. I think I need it.

I decided to start the Best Odds Diet. I cannot, I refuse to gain 30 pounds, but of course I want my baby to get everything he/she needs. I started yesterday and did pretty good. Mainly the key is no refined sugars or grains. I had:

Steel cut oats w/ ground flax and raisins
Whole wheat bread and peanut butter
banana, apple, pineapple, strawberries
salad w/ yellow peppers, cucumber, carrots and tomatoes
black beans and wheat thins
2 eggs w/cheese on a sandwich

doesn't that seem like enough? I was pretty much eating like a junk food junkie. So maybe I'll actually lose a small amount of weight and then I can gain some back.

2 chix tortillas w/ black beans

My ww bagel w/ peanut butter did NOT sit well yesterday afternoon. I now have a strong aversion to peanut butter which is just as well I guess. I've been pretty nauseous today and have no appetite. I could barely get down my oatmeal and eggs this morning and have only had 1 cup of milk so far today. I had more brown rice, beans, & cheese w/ lettuce & tomato and corn tortillas for lunch again today. That kind of hit the spot but then the nausea came right back a little while after I finished eating. I also had a protein bar this afternoon, and spaghetti, sauteed squash & spinach and ww garlic toast is planned for supper.

Well, I'm not yet 100% sure I belong here (waiting for a test to arrive in the mail, or maybe just waiting until eventually a baby is born, or not), but I figure I'll play along for now!

You have to keep in mind that we are doing SCD right now, and not tolerating a lot of foods. We are still early on so it's a lot of meat. I'm really, really missing variety in veggies too. I'm not sure what I'll end up doing about that.

Today:
2 small home-made sausage patties
1/2 avocado
home-made electrolyte drink (water, baking soda, sea salt, honey and a splash of organic grape juice)
steak
baked pears (just peeled pears cooked in a tiny bit of water)
Lots of spinach and some more sausage patties with different seasoning this time
lemon balm/rrl infusion
1/2 a banana
2 spoonfuls of coconut cream
lots of water

Fresh fruit (especially grapefruit)
Fruit smoothies
Yogurt and frozen berries (if I put them together and stick in the fridge for half an hour the yogurt thickens, so the consistency is like frozen yogurt )
Eggs and toast
Salad with added protein--chicken, cheese, nuts, etc.

A little better today, but I still didn't get much food down. I did get up at around noon though.

Multigrain Cheerios w/soymilk & 1/2 a sliced banana
a few saltines
2 cups of chocolate soymilk
a handful of animal crackers
Optimum Slim organic cereal w/soymilk
a few bites of the BEST pickle I've ever eaten

Going to have grilled "cheese" and tomato soup for dinner.

More home-made sausages, this time with a little honey and different spices. I'm glad DH is shopping tomorrow, I'm really sick of these!

lots of green beans with a lemony sauce

1.5 bananas over the course of the day

2 cups of mint tea

grape "jello" (gelatin and organic grape juice)

A little bit of steak

A lot a bit of watercress : tasted really, really good to me today!

carrots roasted in coconut oil with sea salt- also really yummy

just over a qt of lemon balm and RRL infusion

a couple spoonfuls of coconut cream

Cod liver oil

water

Today so far I've had:

eggs & whole wheat pancakes, 16oz skim milk
stuffed bell pepper - yum!
fresh organic spinach w/ lemon juice

For supper we're having:

baked chicken breast, broccoli, homemade whole wheat bread

Snacks:

yogurt
all bran crackers

orange
walnuts

Plus about a gallon of water & a cup of rrl tea

All that gets me close to 100gms protein for the day.

Right now, since I haven't hit the m/s stage, I'm eating my normal diet. I have about 2000 cals a day since I burn about 3000 (1950 basal, 900 from working out). I eat every 2-3 hours and foods include Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal, yogurt fruit smoothies, Kashi protein bars, tortillas with melted cheese, lots of milk, Healthy Choice Panini's, and then a salad and a main dish for dinner. I normally have a bowl of ice cream too because I refuse to give up ice cream! It's my fave food.

I'm having a difficult time with the limitations of pregnancy eating though. When I eat steak, I eat it medium-rare to medium and I eat a lot of seafood so I can get my protein w/o having to eat a lot of other meat (not a huge fan of meat). I can't have either of these things!! I'm not a fan of chicken, pork, or turkey so this is really difficult for me. I get most of my protein from dairy products or Kashi products and I know it's not enough.

I figure if I have m/s, I'll just eat whatever I can keep down and not worry about what it is. I've been talking to my Doula about ways to keep m/s at bay too.

These past two days have been okay. I find that when I do get hungry, I still have to eat slowly and see how I feel after and while I'm eating. No nausea doesn't mean I'm home free!

Yesterday was a good day. I had cereal for breakfast, some chocolate soymilk, soup for lunch, and I went to the gym. So that was good. I went out to dinner with my best friend and had a few bites of a portabello mushroom sandwich, so that was awesome. I was able to eat!

Today has been eh. I was okay this morning, but then got really repulsed by food so I had:

Saltines
banana
animal crackers - BAD IDEA. These are just too sweet.
Yves veggie turkey on rye with mustard - didn't settle right, but I ate it.
cantaloupe

I felt really sick after lunch. Like, I was pretty close to letting it come up, but I held it down.

All I wanted after that was frosting. You know, like Duncan Hines chocolate frosting from the can? So...I've had about 4 spoonfuls of the stuff. I give up!

How come I'm the only one posting my crappy food intake? C'mon girls!

Peppermint tea
Saltines
Morningstar "chicken" strips (23 g protein! Woo Hoo!)
2 oranges
Mike & Ikes
bbq pringles (boo)
2 homemade cupcakes - delicious!

Not sure about dinner. Will have to be something nutritious after the disaster that was today!

So far I've eaten exactly nothing today. It's coming up on 4pm and I'm sooooo ill.
My poor appetite and indigestion has turned into nausea! I haven't barfed yet, thank god! It's hard enough for me to eat anything at all now, and I would probably cry over the toilet bowl if I barfed up all my hard work. I can only eat easily digestible foods, and I have aversions to everything else.

Here's what I've eaten today so far:
  • cookies & cream protein shake for breakfast
  • carrots
  • 2 celery stalks (really helped with my nausea!)
  • 2 cinnamon graham crackers
  • apple
  • banana
  • 2 handfuls of raw organic non-salted almonds
  • yogurt
  • water
  • green tea
  • raspberry leaf tea

now, I'm actually craving a turkey burger! I was in a meeting at work, and the conference door was open, and I heard someone say "mmm, turkey burger", and I've wanted one ever since! That was like 2 hours ago, and guess what I'll be eating for dinner! : Thank god I heard those words because I have aversions to all other meats and fishes right now, and I desperately need the protein...
I want to add here because I am so grateful that i can still eat pretty normally, though I felt so bad today that i don't know how long I'll be able to keep it up:

bf: eggs and toast
snack: tahini and honey sandwich
lunch: some salad, broccoli, baked sweet potato and a few bites of chicken
snack: lots of brown rice crackers
dinner: chicken thigh and a sweet potato.
snack: pear
snack: peanut butter and honey on toast

i am craving CARBS and more CARBS. and fruit. not so much protein or veggies

I've got to get rid of the huge slab of chocolate birthday cake we have sitting around here. I've only managed to eat one slice/day which is unusual for me (usually I'd be picking at it all day), but I don't want to even be eating that much!

So far today:

BF: a nectarine and an oz of almonds
Lunch: 1/2 Chipotle chicken burrito bol with guac.
Snack: chocolate cake and a glass of 2% milk

Now I'm sort of queasy. I think I'll wait and have dinner after yoga. I'm thirsty more than anything, even though I'm drinking water all day.
i'm really wanting salmon for the last several days. today i had salmon salad AND lox (sort of like salt-cured salmon). yesterday i had sushi with brown rice, avocado and salmon.

do you think eating so much salmon is bad? i think the fatty acids would be good but i'm not sure about the mercury content. what do you guys think?

(ps--if it's really awful don't tell me because i already ate it)

eta: mmmm....all this talk about salmon makes me really want some right now!!!
Oooh, I completely forgot about the fish-mercury thing and had a halibut filet for dinner tonight. I seem to recall the issue is more with predatory fish like swordfish and tilefish though???
