Well, if you think about it it's very hard to get that much protein without a pretty good amount of fat also. Working out 12 times a week, I would imagine whatever you gain is what your baby and body truly NEED. I was a SAHM and not exercising at all when I was doing it. I didn't really stick with it, I modified it because it was hard and too much food. A lot that I didn't like.

You're really lucky to be starting out with such a healthy lifestyle. I bet your birth will be easy peasy.

Today was much healthier!

Breakfast: protein bar (and I thought I was going to vomit, I think I need to get some Luna or lara bars)

Second breakfast: whole milk yogurt and granola

Lunch: whole grain toast, turkey, cheese wedge

snack: carrots and roasted red pepper hummus, also tortilla chips

dinner: home made pizza with red peppers and onions

I am also going to boil a bunch of eggs.

I want to buy one of those egg "circles" so I can make McD's-like breakfast sandwiches.

I just woke up from a 2 hour nap and I can't wait for those tater tots. Chris is making the most elaborate and garlic-y smelling sauce, and I just want him out of the kitchen so I can make them.

Hey guys, do you know any way to get a husband to stop making really fragrant, pungent, and non-appealing food? I've tried asking. I've stopped eating the food. But for the past few days, he's been making new and old recipes that take forever, and smell so pungent that I need to physically smell lemons so I don't start gagging, and there is no WAY I can eat them. He sure has been enjoying his dinners, though. I just hate being rude about it, lol.

Breakfast: "Hiker" bagel (all the toppings: garlic, sesame, poppy, etc.) with peanut butter and an orange

Snack: Banana & pistachio nuts

Lunch: Leftovers of linguini, wheat based fake sausages, rainbow chard & tomato sauce

Snack: Yogurt

Dinner: Garlic mashed potatoes with nutritional yeast gravy & tofu and cabbage/carrot coleslaw.

I'm currently doing a 5 day diet diary to see how well I'm managing to get all the nutrients I need according to Anne Frye's lacto-ovo veggie diet. I think I'm doing ok, but will need to up the protein!!! Even though I've been super hungry, it's still hard to eat this much! I feel like I'm constantly in the kitchen.

I had leftover chili for dinner with a small glass of milk (yes, I drink a LOT of milk). I need to add up the protein I've had for the day. I was doing pretty good but I'm pretty sure I didn't hit 100 for the day. I'm thinking I've had closer to maybe 75 or 80.

I did the brewer diet, and it worked well, for me. I'm 5'10" and I gained 30 lbs. DS was 9lbs, 5ozs of that!

Today I ate eggs, cheese, turkey ham and bacon on a tortilla for breakfast.

French fries, just a few,

leftover beef stroganoff for lunch

a coke and a grilled chicken sandwich for dinner

and a few peices of cheese.
and a few cups of coffee.

sigh....it hasn't been the best day in the balanced nutrition department...

DS just woke up and yarked his french fries up all over DH and himself:Puke
I hope I don't get sick from them too!

Lets see, yesterday was an odd day because we overslept in the morning and then I was feeling incredibly nauseous at supper time. And I didn't end up getting in my 2 eggs at all

Breakfast: Peanut butter spread on rice/almond bread slices (2), banana

Snack: 16oz milk

Lunch: Homemade spaghetti sauce w/ ground turkey over rice noodles. Steamed okra w/ butter.

Snack: 8oz milk and my leftover taco salad and mexican soup from night before.

Supper: Guilty as charged!! Box of Annie's mac and cheese b/c I couldn't stomach the thought of eating at supper so DP fried ham for the kids and himself. I ate the mac and cheese later.

Later snack: 8oz milk.

Then after eating that mac and cheese I felt fine and was able to chop and bag all my veggies for the week and thin slice six raw chicken breasts and marinate for me + DP, the kids, a friend, and her daughter to have a sesame chicken lunch today....go figure....I don't get why my nausea is ALWAYS worse around supper time. It was like this with the boys too, I've never had "morning" sickness in my last two (now three it appears) pregnancies...

That was my celebratory lunch last week! I love boxed macaroni and cheese and I am so glad that Annie's and Whole Foods/365 have some that isn't quite as scary as Kraft.

Lol yes, as I was sheepishly slinking past DP to the kitchen with my box o' mac and cheese (he can't eat wheat lol) I comforted myself knowing that at least I'd bought Annie's and it was real cheese

I sort of fell off the Brewer diet wagon over the weekend, in the evenings anyway. My nausea has been SUPER bad in the evenings, and 4 nights in a row now I caved and just ate what sounded good for supper(chinese, burgers & fries, pizza, and hot dogs). Yes, all super unhealthy and fattening choices, but they tasted so good at the time that I didn't even care. At least I didn't pig-out on any of it. I think my dh and kids are loving my spur of the moment cravings, because they love eating out, lol. It's been kind of like a vacation for them. The bad part is that I'm feeling bloated now as a result of my bad eating in the evenings the last few days. I also didn't exercise for the last few days either, so I'm sure that's part of it too. Can't wait till this nausea goes away!!

I'm trying to do better today with eating and will try to get in a walk later. All in all I think the Brewer diet and exercise will work good for me if I can just stick with it. If it weren't for the nausea, it's really a pretty easy diet for me to follow. I'm typically not a picky eater and love most all veggies, including green leafy ones, so that helps. I get most of my protein from chicken, fish, beans, and occasionally lean beef, so I haven't found it an overly fattening diet to follow. I drink skim milk and shy away from cheese and nuts/nut butters that are more fatty. So far, my weight gain is only 1 1/2lbs, so something must be working. Typically I would've already gained 5-10lbs by this point.

Going out on a limb here, but does anyone know or have the fortified soymilk recipe from the Brewer diet? Blueribbonbaby is down and I just wanted to know what it is.

I did okay with eating today. 2 mini bagels, about 1/2 a tofutti pizza, some coca cola (I know, but major craving) and about 3/4 lb cut up cantaloupe. Not bad, not bad. I'll probably have peppermint tea in a bit. Oh, and I did have a cup of decaf coffee this morning.

Ok, so far so good.

Yesterday I did end up eating a few (very few) Doritos. Those Smokin Cheddar BBQ are good! Anyway, I also ate a brownie. I think those are gone now. Thank goodness!

Anyway, today to far I've had:

Breakfast: 1 pkg Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

Snack: One piece of chocolate (dark chocolate, like a Hershey square size, but not Hershey)

Lunch: Leftover roast beef, mashed potatoes and cooked carrots. There was some gravy on the potatoes.

So far I've had 5 1/2 glasses of water. Hopefully I'll hit eight by the time I leave work.

Dinner I plan to eat either tacos or breakfast (as in totally unhealthy pancakes and sausage. LOL.)

Maybe a couple girl scout cookies as a before bed snack. I'll try to skip those though.

I just ate half of a frozen california pizza kitchen magerita pizza. Good god, those things are good. Good thing they're small. Too bad the calories don't match the size. I guesstimated about 450 calories.

My husband took the rest of the chickpea-quinoa pilaf with peas that was leftover from the weekend and I was hoping to have that for lunch.

So far:

Breakfast: two scrambled eggs, tea with a splash of milk

Second breakfast: peanut butter on whole grain toast

Elevenses: chicken salad on whole grain toast, carrots

Still to go:

Luncheon: tortilla chips w/hummus

Tea: Tea w/a splash of milk

Dinner: chicken sausages, green beans, orzo salad with pasturized feta

Supper: maybe some more cheese or some edamame

I'm really having a hard time finding food that sounds good to eat. So, I ate pretty much the same thing I ate yesterday.

2 pieces of whole grain toast with butter and some preserves
egg sandwich with large glass of milk
Kashi protein bar and a small glass of milk
TONS of water!

Dinner is yet to be decided. DH had a root canal today (poor baby! ) so he needs to eat something soft and I'm just not that hungry. I may hard boil a couple eggs or something for me.

Brekkers: 2 fried eggs on 2 pieces of 7 grain toast with butter and some chai tea with milk

Snack: An apple & a banana

Lunch: Miso soup with melted cheddar cheese on a hiker bagel

Snack: An orange, pistachio nuts, and licorice tea with milk

Dinner: Rice with nutritional yeast gravy, tofu, rainbow chard and homemade naan

Will probably have some more naan with peanut butter later on tonight cause I got lots of studying to do!
