new apprentice mw

so my mw told me last night that her regular apprentice is officially taking a leave. i was a little nervous that she was going to bring in some stranger at 37 weeks, but instead she asked if i wanted one of my really great friends to be the apprentice at my birth. hurray!!! i told her that would be AWESOME!! i kinda wanted to have her around anyway, but didn't want too many people in the house. so happy!

I had a doula dilemma, and eventually chose another one, but one of the doulas I wanted is going to be the assistant at mine. So it's great when it all works out!

yay! my best friend is in midwifery school and a nurse at a birth center...and a doula..and a photographer. so, i totally want her there over any other apprentice or assistant, of course. but, i work as a midwife's assistant and was worried it would be tricky to not have a fellow co-worker/assistant there. i think it's going to be fine though.

so glad that your friend will be there for you!
