Well, after making us wait 9 days past his EDD, Aidan decided not to waste any time being born! After only about 6 hours of contractions and maybe 15-20 minutes of pushing he was born at my IPs home, in the pool, about 1:30 pm CST.
I'm glad I decided to leave my house when I did. I was going to wait a little longer to see if the contractions became regular, but something was telling me we should go. Sure enough, about 2 stoplights away from my IPs house I started feeling kind of pushy. Within 15 minutes of walking in their door he was out!
He is covered in very thick vernix so obviously he wasn't "late", but he has very long nails. He latched right on an nursed like a old pro on both sides and now he's content with cooing and sucking on his fingers. He's so alert!
We haven't measured him yet, but he weighs 7lbs 15 oz-a full pound heavier than my DD.
