Rita's Rump Pockets ?

Thread Starter
So, I'm due with my second baby in 7 weeks or so and am trying to get cloth diapers made for both the new babe and my 14-month old DS. I've had DS in Rita's Rump pockets about 50% of the time, which I *love* and are definitely my diaper of choice. I've only made a few for him, though, with an outside of anti-pill fleece, and shortened tabs to make them snappi-able. This time, though, I want to add velcro (I know, I know, this will make the size less versatile) for DH's sake. Has anyone done this? Suggestions on the best way to do it to get the most wear out of the dipes? Any input would be appreciated!

I haven't done the conversion myself, but I know that lots of mamas over at Diaper Sewing Divas have put H&L or snaps on the RRP. I'd recommend asking over there, you'll probably get more responses

Hmmm, I've thought of doing this too. So far, what I've come up with is to add two strips of either H & L or two rows of snaps to the front, and the wings. When you need to put it on a smaller babe, you'd snap/velcro it to the bottom row, and fold down the top row over the wings, once closed. Does that make sense? You'd have a little more bulk in the front, but since you wouldn't be stuffing it with anything, it just might not be too bad. The other idea would be to add H & L or snaps to BOTH sides of the wings, and fold down the BACK of the diaper to attach it to the front. I don't know if this makes anysense, I'll try to make some and post a pic.

It does make sense...it sounds like what Kayla does with her KCK One pocket diaper:

Hi! I have! I don't fold anything down (I did it with a slightly older baby, over 3 months and LONG). Just use the Rita's Rump Cover pattern and make it into a pocket. They work great and they are super super trim. I also love trifolding infant PFs into the Rita's Rump Cover since it is so trim and it holds the PF in place perfectly since it has no slip fleece as an inner. Any questions please PM me. I like to think I am an expert on the RRP since I made it!!!

BTW, thanks so much for saying such nice things about my pattern! That actually means so much to me.

Thanks Sada!!! We are all doing great. My dh opened his own practice 6 months ago, plus we had our new baby just before, so it has been busy busy busy here. I knew having 2 kids was more than twice as hard as having 1, but I never realized it would keep me this busy.

Luckily I made so many diapers for my older boy that I have plenty for my new baby. So it has ended up saving me tons of money (which is great now because I really need to save money now!).

My little boy is sleeping in his RRP and MHM cover as we speak. I still love my little RRPs!
