on our way home!

well mamas..we are finally going home! rue-bee is 2 weeks old today.. it totally amazes me that 2 weeks have passed.. im so in love, more than i ever thought i could be. it feels like she has always been here, part of our family, but at the same time it all feels so new and fresh..

today she had her weight checked and she is back to birth weight after dropping to 7lbs11oz from 8lbs3oz at birth..i don't feel like i have tons of milk, but hopefully once we are home and settled things will get better in that regard. its been stressful here to say the least. she is so happy and content though, so i know that she isn't hungry..i just would love to finally have a baby who is getting so much milk that she gains 2 lbs a week, but its never been like that for me. she also has her first cold which is very sad.. its just a snotty nose but she hates having it sucked out (i do it with my mouth.,its gross but it really works!) im really hoping that it doesnt turn into anything worse.. im taking tons of vit C and other herbal things..

anyways,

we are leaving in the morning and its a looong snowy road, so send us safe traveling thoughts..

im going to miss you all, and ill check in when i can, but it will be rare
to all the mamas who havnt had their babies yet..many gentle birthing vibe sto you..and have beautiful babymoons..

MamaFern so glad to hear you are heading back to home sweet home. Yes, you'll be busy with your three, won't you? Do check in when you can. I've been wondering about you, how you're doing, and missing your posts! :

Just curious about the breastfeeding.......with the weight loss and regaining......was that considered within the range of "okay"? It is, right? Like you were not pushed to pump or supplement by your MW, correct?

Mamafern Yay!! for going home it is such a wonderful feeling to be back in familiar surroundings. Three is definitely a bunch as I know I have a 3 week old,3 year old and 6 year old...it is tough but we manage.

Be careful on the long snowy road and take care...

well, we are not home.. we only made it as far as my partners grandparents then the roads were closed because of an avalanche and still closed more than 2 days later. there is another route, but it was also closed today because of slides..but it is siupposidly open now. its a much longer and more dangerous route though, so im not very happy about that but hopefully by tomorrow at this time we will be snug in our little home.

and i found out that some mamas in my little town are planning us a baby shower.. its so sweet. i hardly know most of them but it feels like we are really going home to such a great wonderful little town.
