So I made two dipes, both fitteds. They fit him great, but one pee and he needs a new one. At this rate I am gonna need ALOT more then I thought. I put two layers of terry under flannel. My sewing machine will not let me sew more then two layers.

So I went to target looking for something more absorbent and I found something in the car section called "final touch drying cloth" from vroom. it says it is very absorbent and it is also very thin. I am hoping that I can do two or three layers of that.

I say microfiber cloths, but they did not seem like they would absorb much, but I have read alot about them being good. Am I missing something??

Also (cuz ya know, why not ask it all in one thread, lol) would shower curtain (the thin, vinyl kind) work as a waterproof part for a AIO?

Thanks!!!

On the microfiber - I believe you are supposed to add another fabric, or use them as stuffers - the microfiber will over dry the baby's skin if right next to it.
Pocket diapers may be good for you if your sewing machine doesn't like too much fabric. You can stuff them as little or as much as you like.
I've never used a shower curtain for an aio so I'm no help there.

Well, the microfibers would be under flannel.

Microfiber is REALLY absorbant- just doesn't look it. You can also make doublers covered in flannel to lay inside your diapers.

I think the shower curtain material isn't meant to be washed over and over as a diaper is. sorry

Yep - you lay them in the diaper, lay baby on the diaper, close up the diaper with the doubler inside. It stays where you put it - especially if you're using fitteds, aios, and/or wraps.

I'm a big fan of an unattached doubler. I've never had problems with them shifting or anything. And I think they wash cleaner and dry faster than a thick fitted or attached doubler. It's how I manage to use the same diapers for my 2 yo and my 3 mo.
