Weight Gain Confessions

Okay--19 weeks here and I have gained 10 lbs. All 10 of those were in the first 8 weeks. However, I do have jello-body now.

For the last couple of dr. visits I have gained zero lbs and my doctor commended me--that kind of bothered me.

20ish weeks and I've gained 13 pounds-- that doesn't seem like a lot to me. I usually gain 25-40 lbs each pregnancy. I tend to have big babies so a lot comes off right away.

Ive gained ummm 8#s since the beginning according to my doctors and 6#s going by my scale where I can weigh myself nude every morning So Im going by the 6#s but of the doctors arent Im 19 weeks today.

When I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago I had gained 4#s in 2 weeks and the doctor complained about it but I hadnt gained any before than (like only 2#s)

I've only gained 4.5 according to the doc's scale today, but I already weighed...umm...let's just say TOO MUCH!

I'm not tracking my weight this pregnancy.

Red Sonja - did that last time - it was bliss!

13# at 14 weeks

Elf, I don't think that's too much at all. With my first I had gained 20 lb. by 20 weeks This time more like 5-8 pounds and i'm 19 weeks. I started at the same weight.

not sure. i don't own a scale and rarely weigh myself. i'm either still down 5# or breaking even...but i'm not losing weight anymore, so that's what counts. i'm probably not going to look at the scale from here out. i'm 15 weeks.

I don't know weight gain, but this morning I found my belly measurements from when I was pregnant with DD#1. My belly today is about the same as it was almost exactly 4 years ago. Too bad DD#1 was born in May and DC#2 will be born in July! Ugh - two months more belly Hopefully it's mostly related to the fact that my abs just aren't as strong. Now I really don't want to look at my weight.

I'm down 8. Not due to being sick, so I'm guessing just a faster metabolism. I've certainly been eating more, but much healthier than with my last 2. I've got a little extra, so I'm not worried. Last time I didn't gain until well into the 2nd tri and put on about 25 by the end. I tend to gain fast once I start. I was expecting and even worried I'd gain much more this time because I haven't been as sick as I was with the previous 2.

It's so nice not to hear about how I'm gaining too little or too much this time!! I'm certainly growing, no doubt about it! The belly has been picking up speed recently.

I'm down too... I've been soooo sick Fortunately, my midwives & ob/gyn are really laid back & aren't concerned.

I'm at 19 weeks and just had my midwife appt. on tuesday. I've gained 10lb so far. My scale at home says I've only gained 5, 10 seems more accurate.
Although I'm sure that number will go up rapidly if I continue with my need for french fries and ketchep everyday.
I'm mostly not worried about gaining as long as it doesn't get out of control. I've been pretty lucky in so far I've mostly craved fruit.
If I could get away with eating apples, grapes, strawberries, watermelon and french fries all day I totally would.

Okay, that is really inappropriate of your Dr.
i would be bothered too.

Even if you are 'overweight' (whihc i doubt, as jello body doesn't = overweight) you should still gain 15-20 lbs for the pregnancy. In which case you are right on target!
10lbs is GREAT!

I'mn still diggin myself out of a deficit. I lost down to 125 and recently gained 2lbs. So I'm 127 and i need to gain 8 more pounds to get back up to even. Then I can count actual lbs gained.

I'm down about 6 or 7 pounds still, but my OB isn't concerned.

I would need a scale to weigh myself... I started out with too much anyways.

The scale I weigh myself on is NOT accurate at all but I know I went down about 5 pounds and slowly was working my way back to the begining weight..

Never once have I weighed myself at the midwives... in fact I haven't pee'd in a cup yet...

But I'm not really bigger. A little but I still sleep on my tummy for the most part. It's just now starting to get uncomfy.

LOL... I just remind myself that Dr. Brewer says toxemia and other pregnancy complications are usually caused by malnutrition--not eating ENOUGH So as long as I'm eating healthy I could gain 80lbs this time and not care. (at least my mat. clothes from last time would start fitting!)

I've only gained 1lb since I started out not eating enough (just eating to hunger) and nursing, and was losing

For some reason I stay the same weight until like the third trimester. My midwives don't seem to mind. I did lose 5 pounds from being sick with the stomach flu over new years.

I honestly have no idea how much I've gained this time around. I've had three back-to-back pregnancies from Jan. '07 to now (two ending in miscarriages), with a sum total of about seven weeks in there during which I was neither pregnant nor "hCG positive." At last check, I was nearly 35 pounds over my Dec. '06 pre-pregnancy weight. That said, we desperately want this child, and if all goes well this time around, all will be worth it. BUT ... I'm getting back into pre-pregnancy (i.e. 14 months ago) clothes before we talk about siblings!

I have gained a total of, I think, 4 pounds. I'm 19 weeks+.

But I do not need to gain much; I'm plus-size. I think my docs would be happy to have me stay stable since I have been sick so much, but at least they're not harassing me about gaining my 4 pounds! Instead they were happy for me that I wasn't losing.

Well. Let me just start with the fact that I gained 115 lbs my last pregnancy. I was underweight and had graves disease and didn't know it. I started this pregnancy 30-40 lbs heavier than last time.

Start =150
10 weeks = 159.5
14 weeks = 161.5
15.5 weeks weighed at home = 166

I don't know what I gained 4.5 lbs this week, but I did. I don't really care much because I do carry a lot of water weight and have big babies. I lost it all last time not too long after 6 month out because Zoe nursed around the clock.
