If a car was repossessed and a breech of contract was filed with the courts for the remaining amount owed can that company have your tax returns taken to pay them back? This isn't for me but i am asking for a friend.

That isn't really enough information, but if a judgement has been made in the case, and the money has been found to be owed, then there is definitely a possibility that assets can be frozen/seized like taxes. If the case has not been heard yet, then they can request that the assets can be held until a judgement has been made, but it isn't likely that they can just take any money, but really there is no way to know the answer without seeing the original contract. I hope that helps a little, but I know it is probably too vague!

Well they repossessed the vehicle and when they resold it there was a $7000 difference. Ford took the case to court to sue for this residual money owed. The person who owes the money did not go to the hearing and i assume a judgement was made because the hearing is back from August of 2007. This person filed their taxes and then thought about that judgement. This person has no assets, no home, no bank acct's etc. So i was curious if they could actually seize taxes for that back pay.
