Post Miscarriage D&C AF

We did IVF cycle in November, 23 months after starting really trying for #2. It was successful and great HCG numbers. Well, then things went awry. The one did not develop very well, measured small and stopped growing, the other measured really well and just never attained a heartbeat I had a D&C in January since my body did not lose them on it's own. The surgery was Jan. 7. I bled for a week and no AF since. The doc said to expect it two weeks after. At what point do I call the doctor and say hey, no AF. I know we have to have three cycles (AF) before we can even talk to the doctor about doing anything which is the only reason why I care.

It just sucks. Never thought we would be here, but here we are.

First of all, I am so so sorry about your loss.

I did not get my first af after my m/c until about a month later. I don't know whether I o'd or not, but I noticed fertility signs about 2.5-3 wks after the m/c started, then a definite lp.

christophersmom - Wow, I am so very sorry for your losses . My heart is breaking for you. You are right on when you say "it just sucks".

You have waited over a month for af so she should be here. I think it would be fine to call your doctor now. : for you.

Oh, I'm so sorry. It is heartbreaking to have the hope and the dissappointment. My first pregnancy was almost exactly the same, good beta at first, then not so good, failing to grow and then no heartbeat on the u/s. AND I also had to have a D&C. I can't remember when AF came after that, but it might not have been for 4 or 5 weeks (my usual cycle length). I'm sorry you are having to go through this, I understand how hard it is. I cried a lot and ate a lot of ice cream (not great coping, but whatever). BTW, both my first pregnancy and the second (successful!) were IVF, the second was FET.

Thanks ladies! Monday will be 5 weeks so I will call then and see. If you don't start do they typically try to do something to jumpstart your cycle?

Yeah, our numbers were awesome, 344, 680 and ~1600 so it was totally unexpected when it happened. It hadn't been a great retrieval, only got three embryos out of the small number (6 aggs) retrieved so I used all three embryos on this cycle, so no FET, we have to start all over again.

I am really emotional again, so maybe AF is on its' way.

I am so sorry about your loss! I had a D&C on Jan. 4th. My OB said it would probably be 4-6 weeks after that when i got my first AF, but that they wouldn't be worried if it took up to 3 months to start getting my cycles again b/c sometimes the hormones can be wacky. I still have yet to see AF show up unfortunately..... She did say i only had to wait 2 cycles to TTC again, not 3. I think all doctors are different.
