Well I had my appt with the CNM group I see for back-up/parallel care and my BP was up (120/90), I've had some swelling, and a headache today so they sent me over to L&D for a non-stress test for the baby and to get some blood work done to make sure my kidneys and liver are still doing well.
Well, 2 hours later I'm back home. Thankfully all my labwork came back normal and this little guy is doing very well- although he was trying to kick-box the fetal monitor off almost the whole time and my butt is numb from being stuck in the horrid hospital bed so long. I swear those beds alone are the reason so many women get epidurals!
I'm due on Feb. 11 and I was so happy that no one even mentioned inducing to me the whole time. Not only that but the L&D nurse I had was very nice, told me she will decline the Hep. B at birth when her baby comes (she was pregnant too), and commended me for planning to breastfeed! She gets a big
In fact everyone I encountered at the hospital was very pleasant and I was able to remain surprisingly calm (usually hospitals give me panic attacks!).
I talked to my homebirth midwife when I got home and she is confident we'll still be able to have a homebirth and we'll just keep a close watch on my BP and I have instructions to take it easy and stop cleaning and going on such long walks!
