i woke around 5 Monday morning from contractions in my back. i was in & out of sleep..so im not sure how close they where..but it they hurt a good bit & i rolled back & forth each one
around 5:35 i had to get up..i went to pee & when i wiped there was a very small amount of bloody mucus .
Michael's alarm went off at 5:40 & he got up & went in the living room.
i followed him in there & told him i thought i was in labor.
then we just sat there watching the news.
at 6 he asked me was i in labor for real, or did he need to get ready for work? i told him no..he wasent going to work.
then i decided to go take a shower & start getting stuff ready for whenever it was time to go.
I got in the shower , but couldnt stand in there long.
after i got out I started getting stuff together. laid out the girls clothes for that day.
around 6:20 he asked if he should get the kids ready. i said no, let them sleep a little more.
i wasent sure how long it would be till i felt ready to leave & didnt want them up & underfoot.
around 6:30 I told him to go wake kayden & to tell her to get ready fast & come dress kinley VERY QUICKLY. I was READY TO GO!!
so he went & woke kay , threw suitcase & baby bag in the van & started it so it could warm up.
then he came in got kinley ready & put them in the van while i called my SIL & mom & told them we where going in.
we left around 6:40
the ride there was ROUGH. i was panicking & wishing we had left earlier. contractions where 3-5 mins apart & VERY PAINFUL.
we got there at 7. michael dropped me off at the door & went & parked the van.
there was NO ONE anywhere around the front entrance. There is a desk..but no one there.
I sat down cause I couldnt walk anymore.
Michael came running in with the girls & i told him to grab the wheel chair I saw behind the desk.
I got in it & we hurried up to the 3rd floor.
well.at the other 2 hospitals I delivered at, they did registration in your room for L & D .i assumed it was the same here. but i got up there & they said I had to go back downstairs . i cussed & off we ran. We did stop & put kinley up on my leg cause michael was pushing me so fast that he was leaving her behind..lol
we get to registration..i was hurting BADELY & they had me registered within 5 mins. but then she says i have to go thru triage. by this point michael is getting pissed & im in so much pain & starting to panic cause i wanted to be in L & D
anyways. she takes my temp , then tries to get my blood pressure.. it dosent take. something was wrong & she says she needs to get another machine. i tell her NO. we need to go up RIGHT NOW.
so..she takes us up.
when we get up there they tell michael the kids cant come back & ask him if someone is coming..he tells them my mom is & should be there any minute..so they tell him to wait in the waiting room & come buzz at the door to come back when she gets there.
so he takes the girls to waiting & she takes me back.
its appropriately 7:30 when she wheels me in my room.
2 nurses where in there & they hand me a gown & tell me to go put it on & pee.
i go to the bathroom & pee & my water pops.
i get my gown on..walk out the bathroom. climb in bed & tell them it broke, & that i have fast deliveries & that I had alot of pressure down there like i needed to poop.
so she checks me & i say "how far?" she says im complete.
well..they start their running & setting up. begging me not to push & me telling them I cant help it..shes coming out.
its all a big painful blur.. but i remember the nurse asking me to give her a second to get her gloves on & another telling me she was the baby nurse & then I felt her coming out.
the one nurse closest to me was asking me to push slower cause she didnt want me to rip..so i was trying..
then just a few seconds later she got in my face & told me to PUSH HARD & get her out NOW.
so i did ..
I looked around my leg & can see her laying there & them suctioning her & shes blue.
they wisked her over to the baby warmer things & where beating on her & using a respirator..
i was so scared & kept asking was she ok.. I could see she was still very blue & her arm moved very slow
FINALLY.. i heard a little cry & then another better one & they where telling me she was ok.
she had had the cord wrapped around her neck & then back around her torso..so when she was coming out it got pulled tighter & squeezed.
her color & condition improved very fast after that first breathe ..
michael came in about 5 mins after her birth..she was just being wrapped in a blanket as he was coming in.
they handed her to me..but i still hadent delivered the placenta , so was still contracting (although no where near as painful) so i just looked at her quickly, saw she was ok & told him to take her.
my doc came in right after that & we delivered the placenta & got my tears stitched up. tortured me by pushing on my stomach to push some clots out &
then they got me cleaned up & my mom,the girls,my sil & niece where able to come in (they where all a few mins late..lol)
i felt good all day monday.. real good..esp after my shower.
my tubal was at 1:00 tuesday afternoon..
Michael kept the baby in the room while i was gone..i didnt want her in the nursery that long..she already was not content to lay in the little bassinet.
i dont remember anything but them telling me to breathe the oxygen & then next thing i knew they where pushing me to recovery. i didnt feel sick at all..or even a sore throat from the tube.. no effects of the anesthesia at all, which is great that was what i was most afraid of..id never been put under..
i was in recovery 30 mins & then they took me back to my room.
i was only gone 2 hours
i was pretty sore tuesday & wensday..but feeling great today!
my girls are IN LOVE with their baby sister..they constantly want to hold & help with her.
Today Kinley wanted to hold her & i told her i had to change her diaper..she told me SHE was changing her & she grabbed a diaper.the wipes & then she went to buisness.she pulled her pants off..unbuttoned her onsie. opened the diaper.wiped her , got the new diaper & even had it in the right direction.but then couldnt figure out how to get it under Mia & said she needed help..lol it was soooooooo cute! i thought for sure she was about to do it all..shes such a little mommy!
im not using our cloth diapers yet..im too lazy.she poops every hour & disposable just seems easier at this point
nursing could not be going any better! Mia has done awesome.she latched on perfect the first time . my milk came in tuesday night & shes loving it!
engorgement set in yesterday & was awful this morning! I had to do a quick shower as soon as we woke & try to hand express so i could nurse her..
she wasent to happy waiting..but the girls sat outside the shower & talked to her & kept her from screaming
now i need to get to bed. kay has school tomorrow (i kept her home today) & i got 3 (!) to get dressed & going in the morning..wish me luck, im not a morning person!
