Good morning ladies!

Looks like an active morning already!

I feel pressure and lots of pressure waves last night.. They come and go.

How is everyone doing?

Good morning!
I woke up around 4am with some cramping and couldn't really get back to sleep. My little boy just woke up sick and miserable, so I'm hoping this baby will wait a bit longer! 38+6 today!
Wow...I haven't had a chance to log on since the night of the 6th, and look at this! I've only scrolled the titles & looks like I've missed quite a few baby arrivals yesterday! I'll write a quick good morning & go read about our new Feb arrivals!

: lincap, if you're thinking this is it...

I'm in a GREAT mood, because yesterday was my last day of work - I'm officially on a major MATERNITY LEAVE! : WHOOOOOOOOOO! So I will finally have a chance to start nesting, assuming LO decides to stick to schedule - LO has shifted lower & I think is anterior now (or mostly), MW will tell us today, but thankfully no signs whatsoever of coming out as yet (I feel like I'm one of the only mamas-to-be on this board who wouldn't mind waiting for my baby to show up )!

Last night Baby was squirming around and I was rubbing my belly and talking to him/her & once again feeling so awed by this experience.

Ok, so Mr Toona rearranged all our computer stuff and the only one was that blurry old screen.

Here I am at work today, my MW says it looks like hormonal gearing up rather than any kind of pluggyness...: All I kept saying to Mr Toona last night was that I feel pretty silly for getting all worked up about it. : Otherwise, yeah, no real ctx's or anythign since I got home... maybe I was just looking for time off work??

Ooh ooh lincap, that seems very promising!! : : to you!!

zulupetalz, oh man it's so rough with a sick little one. Hopefully your cramping will settle down a bit?

steph117 woot on starting your maternity leave! yay!! Maybe we should all do it!

Good morning mamas!

Lincap - SO excited to her that your body is gearing up! Will you be next?? So many babies born yesterday, it's getting me even more excited about the arrival of my little one, but being 38+6, I'll be content to let her bake a little longer.

Zulupetalz - Make sure to take your vitamins and stay well hydrated! I can't imagine going through labor while sick!

Steph - I'm trying to decide when to go on maternity leave. I'm starting to think sooner rather than later. Congrats on you starting yours, I hope you get lots of resting and relaxing in before your LO comes .

Teeny - Ok, so it wasn't your plug BUT, your body is nonetheless getting geared up for the main event ! Before you know it, your nephew will have someone new to play with .

As for me, it was a mostly sleepless night. My hips and back were SO sore! Just the act of turning from one side to the other was painful - ug! But something fairly amusing DID happen last night. Our friend Steve came over for a visit. While he was here, this baby decided she wanted to flip flop onto her opposing side (kind of like me in bed last night ). Well, my entire stomach contorted! You could physically watch her turn. I instantly felt bad for women who have to get their babies turned because it definately was not comfortable. But as I watched Steve, sitting on the floor with his pooch, jaw dropped, bug eyed and staring, I couldn't help but burst out with laughter . He and his fiance plan on starting to have kids about this time next year so he wasn't freaked out, just shocked and in awe.

DH is getting on my case about starting maternity leave. It's hard to know what the right thing to do is. I'm highly social and don't know many people that are around during the day - I'm worried if I start maternity leave, I'll be staring at my belly all day wondering if this little girl is ready to come or not. BUT, the idea of a vacation sure does sound nice! We'll see....

Good morning everyone! I'm 38 weeks today and totally content and feeling like I have 2 weeks at least til I see this baby, but my mom is coming on the 24th and it would be nice to have him before she gets here since she's totally freaked out by the idea of homebirth.

lincap-maybe this is it!!! How exciting!

zulupetalz- hoping you don't get sick and that your little man feels better really soon. We are kind of hibernating trying to avoid germs around here since everyone I know is sick...one friend has rsv, another has the flu...not something we pg mamas need right now!

Steph- yay for maternity leave! Nesting is so much fun and it's great to be able to relax before baby comes.

Teeny- you are so close! My body is doing nothing to show me that labor is ever going to come, before you know it you'll be holding that baby in your arms!

Lilyblossom- it might be nice to take maternity leave and try to hook up with other mothers for social needs in the meantime...you know, get to a local LLL meeting, babywearing meeting, moms of infant groups. I'm a SAHM and that's what I do to stay social. I'd go nuts here in the house with the kids every day by myself! This way you have some friends who are home during the day who you can call if/when you have a rough time postpartum.

I'm feeling better today but I get to add one more *fun* thing I dealt with last night.

I put DS to bed at about 9:00 and came out and sat on the computer. At about 10:30 I heard him coughing (mind you no other sounds prior to this) and thought to myself "I should give him some cough medicine so he can sleep." He's had a slight cold for a few days. So I get up and get his medicine ready and go into his room. It REEKS! I thought to myself "It didn't smell like this when I put him to bed." I looked around in his bed and didn't notice anything. Then I look on the floor and there's a puddle. He puked. No sound, no crying, and he slept in it. EWWWWWW! So I got him out of bed (had to wake him up!) and DH gave him a bath while I scrubbed down his entire bed and the floor. I still haven't figured out what made him sick, until I realized he got sick at Pizza Hut a few days ago. I think it might have to do with his runny nose, but I dunno. We're calling his ped. today to set up our first appt. so hopefully they'll be able to figure out what it is. Poor little guy. I'm just glad something told me to go give him medicine because he would have stayed like that until morning otherwise

Today I feel better (and he seems to be fine) and I'm trying to keep my mind off of everything. We're gonna clean the house so I don't have to feel like I'm living in filth. Maybe then I'll convince DH to take me to the park. Maybe some fresh air and walking will get something going

Only have a sec but SarahLynne please remember all those cough medicines for kids are being pulled from the market and considered harmful not helpful.

morning!

i have been pushing myself to stay awake a lil later so i am not up at 4am these days and it's working! yay! my hips didn't ache all night either. yay!

i had my third baby dream last night. let me re-cap them to you and you all let me know what you think.

first dream: baby girl with dark hair born sunny side up smiling at me. birthed her on my bed with only DH and ezra there.

second- gave birth to twins, in the caul and put them in my jacket pockets then toted them around to a welcome baby shower for friends/their new baby from bali. went to a furniture store and had blood on my pants. took one out to nurse it but it was still in the sac so bit it open then nursed the babe. sales guy asked if i needed any help with anything and i said no. (yes, all things very odd!)

third dream last night: room full of people including, my first boyfriend, hank and my friend i hung out with last night, old high school buddy i still KIT with, unfamiliar midwife sort of person who wasn't very confident, DH and others. Gave birth easily and was very happy. Baby had full head of dark hair and was male. After he was born, the MW person who wasn't really on her game sat there so i asked ole hank for a bulb to suction the babe, did that and it cried for the first time. Then, wrapped it in a blanket after asking MW to give me one and asked hank for a hat which he put on the baby's face instead of it's head. i put the hat on it's head and sat down to nurse the babe. i remember feeling so happy and smiling so much in the dream. as i got a fresh blanket, the babe peed and pooped and had bloody discharge all over me that i wiped up and kept nursing. i was leaning up against the foot of my bed with lots of pillows and blankets under me.

okay, who wants to interpret?

i am 37 weeks today! gave birth to ez at 37.2 so send me sticky vibes, fellow mamas!

Gunter, you gotta love those pregnancy dreams! I laughed when I read about putting your twins in your jacket pockets! Too bad I am no good at dream interpretations, but thanks for sharing!

I am 40+3. Got 2 kids with the stomach flu, one is up having puked twice this morning and one is still asleep. Fun. I am using Lysol wipes like a crazy woman--I don't care what chemicals are on them as long as I don't get sick! My hands already feels dry, I've washed them so many times this morning.

Tons of pukey laundry to do plus grocery shopping. Thankfully DH is here today and he is great about helping out.

I need healthy vibes!

Still here at 40+2...Had an appointment with my midwife yesterday afternoon, she ended up having a birth during the night and was surprised it wasn't me But when she was checking the baby's position yesterday, my belly was sooo much more sensitive, so tender to touch, I almost asked her to stop, but I was wanting to know where the baby was and how big she thought it might be, etc. She thinks that it's going to be a fair sized baby around 9 pounds, because I have a big butt baby If I don't have the baby by Monday she wants me to call her to set up a NST on Friday so we can keep on going with clear minds. Don't know how thrilled I am at the prospect of that but understand what the reasoning is behind it for her. Otherwise things are looking good, she heard accelerations with the baby's movements, which is great. Every day it seems like I get more and more labory, is this prodromal labor? 'Cause I have felt it could be "the day" since Thursday/Friday because of contractions, etc. Contractions are getting more painful, I am thinking about going for a walk with ds to maybe see if that gets something going. I am so ready for this uncomfortable part to get productive. The midwife also said that alot of third time moms have late pregnancy experiences like this...Anyone want to back that up?

Hope everyone is doing well!

Sending healthy vibes to all of you who are feeling yucky (and have family members feeling yucky.)

Went to the mw yesterday. They did a biophysical profile, and we found out that while most of the baby is still on track with my due date, his tummy is apparently that of an already born baby, whatever THAT is supposed to mean! They are estimating at about 8 pounds right now, which is on par for what we expected (I have previously had a 9 pounder and an 8.5 pounder, both girls, and this one still has a couple of weeks to gain more weight. Oy.)

The picture of his face eerily looks EXACTLY like Chloe's, which makes me a little nervous, but I'm trying not to think about it too much.

She also went ahead and checked me, and I'm 1-2cm, 25% effaced. Whoopedeedoo.

I am having a hospital birth, and the mw sat down with me - without even me asking (I love my midwife!) - and went over things I wanted in my birth plan (a lot of which are things that she already does), and she suggested that I go into a little bit of detail about Chloe, and not make it TOO short, to avoid any potential situations that may be upsetting. So I have that to work on in the next few days.

It also might be nice if I pack my bag at some point.

And I'm going to my new psych today, who is supposedly well-versed in PPD, but may actually want to gouge his eyeballs out after an hour with me. We'll see.

As for baby, I had a few minor contractions last night, but not the real thing. If he's anything like his sisters, he'll be cooking for another 2-3 weeks. It's making me jealous to come on here and see a new person in labor every day!

He's had dairy since about 12 mo without any issues I think the vomitting was caused by the mucous running down his throat. It caused him to cough (too hard maybe) and he got sick. However we are calling the dr. today to get him in and hopefully feeling all better!!

I gave him Delsym (sp) for his cough. Its for 2 yo and up and they told me 1/2 teaspoon is fine for his height and weight. I don't give him medicines like ever so I'll go do my research now!!

I'm trying to get the house in order. Thus far I got my kitchen floor swept, LoL washed, trash out to the dumpster (normally DHs job, but I got sick of seeing and smelling it and I didn't want to wait for him to get up!) I just finished eating and I'm gonna take my vitamin and tackle the dishes!!

I'm joining the "mamas with sick kiddos club". Unwillingly, of course. But it is a good lesson for me because I was cranky yesterday since I wasn't in labor and it was the exact pregnancy day that DS was born and I never expected to go longer with #2.
Well, now, clearly, it was important that I didn't have her yesterday so that 1. there weren't fresh germs everywhere, and 2. I get to snuggle and take care of DS with my full attention rather than my mom or someone else...when little guys are sick, they just want thier mommies, and I am so happy I can hold him and love on him today. (I am praying it's just a 24 hour thing, though, because I am already 39 weeks and 1 day, and 4 cm dilated and 75% effaced. I can't have too much more time left, and I would love for us all to be germ-free for the little one! Also, I DO NOT want to be sick and going through labor!!) Nothing going on in my uterus so far this morning, so it looks good for maybe another day or so, at least!
37w plus change here... not much going on. Every evening for the last week I've had a little bout of regular BH that go away after an hour or so. Teeny, like you I'm getting "hormonally geared up" so now every time I go to the bathroom it's a big deal because I'm so wondering what's happening down there!! It reminds me a LOT of when we were ttc and I was hoping hoping hoping NOT to get my period! I think it's funny to end the pregnancy in such a similar way to how it began. I also get big cervical twinges pretty regularly, so I guess something must be going on.

Baby is not as wiggly now. Anyone else having a baby slow down a bit? I'm trying not to worry because I still feel movement regularly, it's just fewer/farther between. I think things are cramped in there. I'm also guessing that his/her sleep patterns are settling in and maybe she sleeps more deeply?

Yesterday was a crappy day, I was in a horrible mood, really tired, and my body is just ACHING everywhere. I got upset because I can't see my LMT until next week, and I don't see my chiro until Monday, so I have to make it through the weekend feeling soooo sore and achy and disjointed. I hate the way I lurch around! Lucky for me DH is a saint and he set up the birth pool a second time, and this time we did a much better job of getting the water warm and keeping it that way, so I had a looooong, therapeutic soak. I think it may have helped the wee one as well because he/she has rolled over to LOA and has stayed there overnight (usually she's ROT/ROA).

Hanging in there, trying not to be too impatient!
