If you're a first timer still waiting for your turn and are wondering how you'll know, read on. If you've BTDT, stop now before I bore you.
Had been awake for a few hours feeling... twitchy, kind of PMS crampy. I felt a crazy pop a few inches left of my belly button at 5:16 AM my time. I happened to be staring at the clock wondering if I should just get up.
Then I felt like I was about to pee the bed and practically levitated to the bathroom. The water was cloudy at first and then went clear. It's been kind of pulsing out ever since.
The mucus plug came out in three bits, and it was unmistakably the plug. I have tons of clear mucus with what looks like red threads - "bloody show" I guess?
Just for yucks I started timing the funny cramps. They were every five minutes on the snout at first. Then every four.
Now they're every three, and are menstrual/spreading to my lower back, and I'm having to kind of think about them. Helps to hum real low and imagine the lens of a camera opening - thanks to the genius Feb Mama who suggested that image, can't think of who it was now.
I'm sort of annoyed - thought I had weeks to go, and the urge to nest never hit, so the laundry is undone, the witch hazel pads are not cut out, and the replacement breastpump parts were just ordered on Wed.
I may still have weeks to go. I don't feel the sensation so many of you experienced women described of feeling the head be "engaged."
This post took nearly twenty minutes to write, so I think I'm going to try and chill for awhile. I'll be back if it stalls out or I have a baby
