High Risk?

With my last pg (I am only 7 months pp) I gave birth 6 1/2 weeks preterm. About 2 weeks before that I SWORE my Petri had dropped but everybody said I was crazy... so anyway, they werent able to make my contractions stop. DH adn I dtd and then I started have horribly painful contraction. By the time I got to the hospital the nurse at first said it was normal from dtd but then she checked and I was 5 cm dialated and had to be sent to another hospital that could care for a premature birth. Anyway, to the point, when I gave birth, the only explanation for the preterm labor was that my placenta started to detach from my uterus. I looked it up, and it wasnt exactally like placental abruptia (sp?). So when I found out I was pg again, I made an appt with a CMW but then I thought about the preterm birth and was wondering if I should seek a high risk pregnancy ob gyn or what. Please help. Thanks

I would immediately start focusing on excellent nutrition for sure. That's one thing you can do to greatly increase your chances of those problems not repeating. I guess I'd lean towards going with a good midwife, just because they tend to focus more on prevention(diet/exercise) than a high risk ob who tends to focus more on treating problems as they arise. But, in the end you have to do what you're the most comfortable with inside.

I am a little worried i could end up considered "high risk" also...
My blood pressure tends to be extrordinarily high and of course pregnancy can aggrevate that condition~~
All i can do for now is focus on being as healthy as i possibly can ...
I am telling myself all will be well and we will get the water birth I have always wanted.I am a firm believer in positive thinking. Just make sure your midwife is aware of your history and they will know what to watch out for...

I don't think that really makes you anything. New pregnancy, new day. My SIL had PTL and PROM with her first at 35 weeks and her second went full term, no problems. I'd hire a midwife and make sure she knows your history. You may end up on bed/pelvic rest but you know how much better that is than a NICU stay.
