You might look into the firing.

There might have been valid reasons but I was fired once while pregnant and heard later through the grapevine that they just didn't want to pay any maternity leave.

I used to work for Sterling Testing Service. They did reference checks with schools and former employers. If you have any experience on the internet looking up unknown information, you would probably be a fit. That is 1/2 the job, as people never give all the info or the right info on a job app...

And good luck. It is hard loosing a job, but the one time it happened to me it turned out to be the best thing to happen in the long run!

yeah, whenever I hear about a pg woman being fired, it always makes me a little suspicious. Is there anything about the situation that makes you wonder if you should talk to the Equal Opportunity Commission or a lawyer? http://www.eeoc.gov/types/pregnancy.html

Good luck mama!

I agree with JenMidwife. I was wrongfully fired for being pregnant, and ended up filing a claim and getting a small cash settlement.

Totally illegal and definitely not cool!

my boss was a farmers insurance agent and I was a 1099 employee (under the table if you will). So I dont know if I would have any legal grounds for that. Anyway, I hated my job and it was only part time which was 200 a week but still he was a really jerk all the time. Im glad I dont have to work with him anymore. Also thanks so much for all the suggestions. Its helping
Thanks Mamas!!!

I was laid off of my job when I was pregnant with my first. It shook me hard, but then things turned out so much better after that. It always seems like things happen for a reason.

I hope you find this situation is a blessing more than a curse. Thank goodness, you don't have to deal with that boss anymore!

Good luck Morgan!

Noticed your dd's name is Shelby. I have a few special Shelbys in my life & gave my dd Shelby for her middle name

Sorry to hear about the loss of your job. Have you thought of contacting any temp agencies or QVC? My friend's mom work for them from home taking orders.
