Best track to CNM

I am beginning my journey towards becoming a CNM. I have an associates degree and have completed an A&P sequence. I have 40 credits left to earn my bachelors degree(not in nursing).
I was thinking of finishing this degree and then doing an accelerated program but I don't think the financial aid would be as good.
Are there any midwives or nurses out there that started out with an associates of nursing? In your opinion is that the best place to start? Please give some advice, thanks in advance

Hey Abi, I'd actually recommend posting this in the Finding your tribe forum. There's a thread called "Nurses, students and pre-req takers" and they are great! I'm headed to cnm also, and have gotten thoughtful and practical replies to my questions over there.

Hi! I started out with my ADN (I had a BA in a non-nursing field). I then went on to get my BSN and just started my CNM program recently. It was kind of a long way to do this, but it has worked out really well for me. I'm glad now that I didn't consolidate the programs because it gave me the chance to really focus on each level. I loved my ADN program and had a lot of great experiences during school--it built a great foundation for me. Good luck!
