Book Recommendation?

Hi. I just have a question for you ladies. I'm witnessing a heartbreaking situation. My Mom's Boyfriend has a daughter who is Autistic (she's high functioning). The father doesn't have custody of her and the mother is in denial about her daughter's needs. There isn't much that is being done to help her. Her diet is horrendous and she isn't getting special therapy beyond what is offered by the public school.

Her Dad is willing to get her help but he just doesn't know what to do. Are there any books that you would suggest I get for him to read?

I suggest he involve himself at the school, and ask questions incessantly. It's really about getting in like a dirty shirt. Advocate, advocate, advocate.

Thanks! I have told them about a special needs summer camp that a friend of mine has volunteered at for the last 6 years or so. They're going to send her this summer.. The problem really is that her Mother just doesn't want to believe that her daughter has special needs and her head is stuck in the sand.
