Hello all! I'm just checking in quickly... There've been computer issues at home all day, sheesh... Went to the midwife's today, and my BP was up a bit (probably thanks to my slothishness the last week), and didn't have the best urine test, but I barely ate breakfast before and she was cool with it. I figure if I were in a mainstream practice, they'd say INDUCTION!! But she's grooving with it. We've talked about the mucus issue and it seems to be that it's my cervix thinning out. THe baby is engaged. And whenever it happens it will. It seems though that it will still be a while yet. I'm 39+6 today, so that's how it is. I think I will be a little annoyed if the people at work don't stop asking me if the baby's here yet. Ummm no...

I hope everyone's doing better... to you mommas dealing with DH's who are not up to expectations. More later, probably from work where there is not the sort of computer issues...

Hearing from you mamas who have kids already who are keeping you up, or who are already past 40w, I know I have nothing to complain about.

Went for a pedicure today with a good friend who's due May 1. My first pedi, and now I'll have pretty toes, even if the rest of my is not so attractive! Other than that, completely wiped out by this cold still. Started getting better but is now getting worse, so starting to think it may be a sinus infection. Just remembered to try the neti, and am also taking daily Emergen-C.

We met our pediatricians yesterday - seems like a perfect fit, and only 15 minutes from home!

Woke up with lower belly crampiness, briefly wondered if it might mean *something*, *anything*, but here I am still.

It's almost 7pm, yet I'm going to go take a nap so that i have energy to clean the kitchen and cook dinner. DH has been grouting the bathroom since 2pm and just finished - so I can't complain and ask him to do dinner!

Question - I've heard a few different folks refer to using Emergen-C during labor. Is there a specific reason for that - does it taste better, or does the C help keep energy up?

I'm 37w3d today. It's the day my dd1 was born, so I can't help but start thinking "any day now", even though my others were all a bit later to arrive. I had a rough night with a couple hours worth of contractions which kept waking me and some blood flecked mucous to show for it in the morning. But nothing has been going on today.

I'm glad, because my dd1 got to go to a skating party that she had been looking forward to for a long time. I was worried, in the wee hours of the morning, that she wouldn't be able to go 'cause I'd be in labor, but she made it and had a blast.

37 + 6 today!!

I *think* I've decided to take up my doc's offer of cervical massage next weekend, so dh and I have been busy busy getting the last-minute baby stuff done. We had a big talk last night and it just kind of hit me that (to me) having my membranes swept wasn't much different from other "natural" things women do like taking herbs, sex, walking, etc. I feel like a huge weight of stress has been lifted from my shoulders; I was *very* concerned about how things were going to go with my history of rapid labor. So looks like I'll probably become a mom of 4 next weekend! Though - lots of contractions, so it could always be before!

Didn't get to bed till 7am this morning. Stupid me. We went grocery shopping and really stocked up (about 3-4 weeks of groceries for 5 people) so it took FOREVER. Dh warned me that it probably wasn't a good idea, and boy was he right! My feet and even my legs were horribly swollen and painful by the time we were done. I found a leg lotion from Burt's Bees that helps some, but between the painful swelling and that crazy restless leg crap there was no sleeping for me.

Hugs to all!

I think the idea is to have a solid alternative to things like gatorade or soda - things high in sugar. Emergen-C will replenish electrolytes and give you an energy boost without it being a big sugar rush/crash. And the nutrients can be helpful. My midwife rec'd emergen-c and also Recharge.

I mean, water would be fine, regular gatorade would even be fine, emergen-c is just considered superior to those things.

Still pregnant. I have a sinus infection or something. I have had a sore throat for several days and it was so bad this morning, that I couldn't eat or drink anything or talk. It also seems to have spread to my right ear, so I am having trouble hearing anything. I broke down and called my doctor and am now taking an antibiotic. I have been sick for over a week and it seems to get worse every day.

I have been pretty crampy today, both in my back and abdomen, but doesn't seem to be regular. I also have felt like I needed to poop all day, but have yet to have any luck. Oh, and terribly gassy. TMI!

38+1

DH and I did grocery shopping today and stocked up for weeks. I came home completely wiped out and sore. Took a nap, got up at 8:00 made dinner and did dishes. Really no changes with me.

DH called me grumpy this morning (which I was) and somehow that set off the sprinklers, I just lost it crying. He laughed and me and rubbed my back and just said its ok just let it out. LOL. Then he told me to wake him up when I get up tomorrow and we can go to Bob Evans for those stuffed blueberry pancakes that make me drool everytime I see the commercials lately. LOL.

DH went out, the DC's spilled a can of paint in one of the bedrooms, and the littlest is having a temper tantrum about sleeping arrangements. She wants to sleep w/ her big sister and big sis's friend. And I am searching desperately on the web for reasonably priced organic baby gowns... AND I just totally lost a great lot of baby clothes by .50 on ebay, cuz I wasn't paying attention. I need a vacation. AAAAARGH!!!!! I am just too tired and frustrated and big to deal tonight.
