Any feel good waiting for baby movies?

Hi Mamas,

What are you watching while waiting for your baby? We have a few more days till the due date and I'm working up until I go into labor...but would love to have a few light hearted flicks on hand for after hours.

I have an awful cold and the MW's want me resting in bed this weekend- any suggestions for light comedies (baby or not baby related) to watch?

Thanks for your ideas!

Not a movie, but a big recommendation for reading The Red Tent. I read it the first week postpartum, and it was pretty much the perfect "waargh, just had my last baby, what do I do now?" book. Especially given the boy/girl balance in our family.

Have you seen Curb Your Enthusiasm? Larry David cracks me up- if I hadn't already seen them all i would get a season or two of those on DVD. (not baby related- just funny)

If I think of any more I will come back and post- Hope you are feeling better soon- can you take EmergenC? Those little packets that you put in water? I have them packed in my labor bag for the big day

I'm in a silly romantic comedy mood...so I just bought the following two movies:

Green Card (this is one of my favorite movies of all time. I love me some Gerard Depardieu)

French Kiss

And I just got in I Heart Huckabees in from Netflix.

Still feeling to "busy" to sit down and watch a movie right now, so I'm holding on to them until it's closer to baby's arrival time.

I haven't really had much of an attention span for movies, but did enjoy watching Across the Universe the past couple nights. Be prepared to have Beatles songs stuck in your head forever, though!

I love love love the movie Nine Months with Hugh Grant and I can't remember the red headed actress' name. It is a hilarious take on pregnancy and birth.

I have watched it at least once during all of pregnancies.

It is a pregnant woman classic.

Wishing a speedy, healthy labor.

Good call, flapjack! I read that book years ago when it came out and although I would not have picked it out on my own, I give it two thumbs up, it's a great read .

I wanted to get some comedies in case I feel like watching movies during early labor - figured laughter could only help, right? Waiting in the wings, I have The Incredibles (one of the few movies that made me laugh until I cried), The Princess Bride (classic), Mary Poppins (fluff nostalgia), and Blades of Glory.

To pass the time, when we are both too tired to do anything else, we've been watching Weeds which I absolutely adore. I wish the 3rd season would hurry up & come out! We've also been watching Arrested Development, but that's only because the library had it. We only get 2 channels - NBC and CBS - so not much actual TV-watching going on here!

I 3rd the The Red Tent, Read it with #2! It's sitting at my MIL house, and I keep thinking I should read it again. I watched The Blue Lagoon, purely by chance today. YK the one with Brook Shields and some cute blond kid. They make a baby together and though the birth scene was brief and a little vague, it was so sweet to see them with their baby and to watch them raise him. Cute, romantic, mindless TV
