Please reassure me.

So, I've been feeling the baby move for a couple of weeks now, always in the same spots, same feelings.

But...the last two days...I can't feel it!

I'm not sure if I'm growing and now the baby is moving to new places that I can't feel? Or if this is normal?

I'm kind of nervous. I've had 3 losses before this pregnancy, and so things like this stress me out.

Also, the whole, morning sickness going away thing doesn't help.

And...my boobs aren't as sore, is this normal too?

I wish I wasn't such a stress case, I've seen this baby grow on schedule, seen the heartbeat, heard it at 13 weeks...but, I have moments.

I wouldn't expect to feel regular movements before 19-20 weeks. Before that it's usually pretty sporatic.

I first felt the baby move at 12 weeks, very faintly but regularly for a week. Then nothing til 14 weeks, and then only for a few days, then another week gap and regular movement again... it's been really off and on. My MW asked me to start monitoring movement so I could let them know if it stopped, but I'm still not feeling movement very regularly, only really at night when I'm very quiet and still, or occasionally during the day I'll feel something definite. However, I'm almost 19 weeks now and it's taken up until this week, and all the movement seems to be on a different side now. My MW checked the heartbeat 2 weeks ago and kept saying "Hear that? That's a good movement!" and I couldn't feel a thing. I've got absolutely no reason to think my pg isn't progressing well so I've not been too worried.

My boobs stopped hurting very suddenly, over a matter of days, and my appetite came back suddenly, too. I have no idea what's normal but hopefully that at least one person's having a similar experience will be a little reassuring

Whew, yep, this is reassuring! Keep the stories coming!

Thank-you, thank-you!

I had that happen a week or so ago. I had been feeling regular movement and then they stopped. I had the mw use her doppler to hear the heartbeat at the last appointment because I was slightly spooked. I felt a little guilty over the use of the Doppler but it was so reassuring to hear the heartbeat. I don't think the movement is regularly detectable for a few more weeks. Don't worry, and if you are worried maybe your midwife or doc could make an extra appointment to put your mind at ease.

Had

I felt movement a while back and then didn't feel anything for a week or two. Now I'm feeling it again. But it's still not totally strong and definite.
Also the intensity of my nipple pain comes and goes. I'm 18w4d.

At this point it really is "normal" to be lacking in symptoms such as breast tenderness, the morning sickness, and so forth. For some it may still linger, but for many a lot of the symptoms associated with early pregnancy will fade...only to be replaced shortly by new and different ones. I often find my hunger at it's peak during the 2nd tri (think about all the growth that must be going on then!) and dropping back again later as the baby is bigger and there's less room for food.

Again, like someone else mentioned, movement at this stage, while very cool, is often not regular and wouldn't be an accurate judge of the baby's wellbeing.

We all worry and I'm not sure if we can ever truly put our worry to rest and certainly with the history you've had previously, you have good reason! I'm not sure if anything will truly make you feel less stressed, but chances are this babe is A-OK and in for the long haul!

It won't be long until the big u/s (assuming you're having one) and I imagine you will feel tons better!

Oh momma, I was having the same concern as you...but I finally accepted it as normal. I am right there with you at 15 weeks - 16 weeks Mon. At 13 weeks I felt regular movements. But this week I just stopped feeling them at all. I'd feel something, hoping it was baby, but then I'd fart I was worried about it, but I know for a fact my pants are fitting differently around my belly, so I'm still growing...I won't be truly ok about it until I hear the heartbeat Mon at the doc's office for my 16 weeks checkup.

PS...other than peeing all the time, and some back aches and round ligament pains, I'm completely symptom free when during the first months I couldn't touch my boobs or look at bananas due to morning sickness. Thus starts the "good" months of pregnancy

It is normal to worry about these things, and you certainly have good reason with your prior losses!

I'm so sorry about your prior losses mama

I've had a scary pregnancy this time, I was just mentioning to my OB that I wished I regularly felt movements for reassurance (I'm 16 weeks) & she said " weeeeell, fetal movements aren't really a reliable source of information for the baby's wellbeing until about 20 weeks, so even if you started feeling movements now, it would probably stress you out that you weren't feeling them often". That reassured me a lot- maybe it will help you.

It's perfectly normal...I am 19 weeks and JUST now starting to feel daily movements..and as far as your boobs being sore, sounds normal to me too! One day my dd will latch on to nurse and it will HURT like nobodys business but then the next day I dont' even hardly feel it!

Try not to stress, I know how hard it is to NOT, NOT worry after m/c's (I had 2 myself) even now with my 3rd, I am still paranoid....but I think more than likely your babe is just fine!

Michelle, I'd say not to worry honestly. The baby is a little bigger and moves more freely right now. Also it's very common for the bb's to be less sore, or for you to not notice it so much b/c it's been so consistant. Also, most mom's feel morning sickness relief by week 12 or so. I did with ALL my others. This time is a different story, but my bb's don't hurt anymore. I'm sure that little one is doing great!!!

Its fairly sporatic at this point. I can have days where I feel constant movement and days with none.

I bet things are just fine with you.

I have felt movement now and then for the past week. It is sporadic and unpredictable. My have no symptoms other than being thirsty and peeing a lot (I would guess the 2 are related ) I am sure everything is great but I know after a loss it is hard not to worry.

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you everyone for sharing your experiences.

Sometimes, it really helps me to read these .

And, in fact, today, I'm feeling happy again about this little baby.

What an emotional roller coaster ride this is!

Hi,
much like the other mamas here, I felt the baby around 15 weeks, here and there (at least what I assumed was movement). Then nothing for a couple days. I've been feeling regular movement every day now, tho, but then again I'm 19 weeks along. Before now it was all pretty sporadic (one day tons of movement, another, none at all)

I'm glad you're feeling better. It's hard to always trust that everything's fine isn't it?

I'd like to suggest that worry itself is a pregnancy symptom! We all experience it off and on and I can only imagine how much harder it would be if you have a history of loss. I'm glad this group is so supportive!!
