um...how do i say this...i'm back!?

so mamas,

i have been on a crazy roller coaster over the last month. on january 12 i had a miscarriage and went through all the grieving and processing that that took. i didn't go to the ob-gyn until this last week because i felt like my body had handled it very well and efficiently and there were no signs of infection (i had been in touch with my midwife). i went in last week just because i wanted to make sure all was well...and to make a long story short there is another baby! you cannot imagine my complete and utter shock. i had no idea that you could fully miscarry a vanishing twin and carry the other one. so suddenly i am 16 weeks pregnant and really feeling it. i am feeling all over the place happy and sad and really really really confused. all the physical signs were there i just couldn't interpret them correctly because i knew i had miscarried (we saw amniotic sac and placenta so there was no doubt). so i hope i am welcome back here. i feel really excited and also pretty scared. so here's to hoping that this is the biggest challenge for us in this pregnancy. i hope you all are well.

How wonderful that you are still pregnant. I am so sorry for your loss. I experienced a loss in June. But I am glad that you get to enjoy this pg. Here's hoping you have a wonderful, healthy, uneventful pregnancy.

Wow that is amazing! What a wonderful surprise! There was a mom on here that had the exact same thing happen and she also found out at 16 weeks I think that she was carrying the other healthy twin. Welcome back!

thanks everyone for you support and understanding. after a couple days of feeling like i'd been hit with a crazy stick i'm finally feeling like a mama to be and getting back in the swing of things. next i really need to pick up some maternity clothes cause my pants don't fit right all of a sudden. i spent 3 1/2weeks "not pregnant" and now i'm showing and need maternity pants . i'm really glad to be back with you all.

This was exactly what my own mom went through with me - miscarried my twin, only to find out that I was still around a few weeks later.

Congratulations on your pregnancy - I hope things go smoothly from here on out.

The body is an amazing thing, isn't it?
