Can I just be blatantly honest for a minute here?

I'm getting really really FED UP with being a big mucousy mess. I have thick fluids leaking from what feels like every orfice in my body. It's gross. I'm blowing my nose constantly; sneezing all the time; having to change my underwear like 4 times a day; and drooling on my pillow all night long (ok, I admit that I do this regularily anyways, but it just adds to the problem now). It's just me and DS here; and I'm going through 24 rolls of toilet paper and a box of 250 count kleenex every friggin' two weeks. GAH!!

See? I TOLD you it was wayyy too much information.

I'm with you in every respect but the drool. We go through a triple roll of TP a day and I have to change my undies all of the time...gross. My nose is crappy and I can barely breathe because of it and when I blow it it is bloody...another gross!

Okay TMI is good. Thats what we're all doing here anyways isn't it? To share the TMI with complete strangers in hopes of gaining insight?? Atleast I hope it is, otherwise I'm sharing all the wrong things on here! LOL
For me each pregnancy (my daughter excluded) was the exact same as what you described. However if it becomes bothersome to the point of wanting to put an end to it, you could see your doctor for something OTC to help with sneezing and nose leakage. The drooling I am thinking, pretty logically here, is b/c your having so much difficulty breathing through your nose as is. And the changing underwear all through out the day-well this is just the joys of being host and home to another lil person! Somedays I really wonder why it is that I did this Four times over knowing all these things off the bat!

What are YOU doing here, "singlemomof4" (if that IS your real name). You're not even pregnant. You think you know stuff because you've had four kids :...well....I'm gonna come down to your house and kick your butt personally until you realize that I am the one that knows everything, and stop trying to upstage me. (Umm...since it's snowing, I'll kick your butt tomorrow when I drop DS off. )

(a hundred bucks says jaws dropped right to the end of this post, lol. "OMG, how could Blu be so mean!??")

Listen Missy, I have 3x the power you do if it all comes down to a brawl!
You and DS have nothing on me, 3 sons and daughter + me.... She may be lil but she's a feisty one for sure!

OMG; please don't sic the little one on me. I fear not the rest of you; but the girl, for sure. I'll take you on out-numbered, but the littlest one sits out!
Okay lil one sits out first round! But after that we bring her in for back up "if" need be.
Otherwise she's cute as a button...no need to mess her up Unless of course Absolutely necessary

So, your post count is going up, and I'm amused (and I've totally forgotten about how ticked I was from being goobery). But, I wonder if anyone else is enjoying our little soap-opera drama here. We should go to Hollywood and get fancy writers gigs. I'd say "lets load up the minivan"; but....well... we don't HAVE a minivan.
Forgetting about being goobery is GOOD! And yes post count is going up GOOD also
I wonder if anyone else is enjoying it too?? Hmm Hollywood may be a stretch though.
Step one: get minivan Step two: get money for gas Step three: ummmm find lots and lots of games and activities to occupy children
But on the logical side for a minute here a minivan wouldn't fit us all. Two adults, five children...no wait! they would "just" fit!

Drool Pillows

When my little sister was a like six of seven she got into making these little pillows, they were narrow and long. She used whatever absorbent material we had floating around the house. She slept with one tucked underneath her jaw and sort of wrapped around her neck. She had gotten grossed out by the feeling of waking up in a puddle of drool so she solved her problem by creating these "drool pillows."

She even sent one to Oprah after one show when Oprah let it slip that she had this problem too. Oprah never even sent a thank you note!

But, the idea of the drool pillow lived on in our household. If you use a really absorbent fabric it wicks the moisture in and away from your face when you sleep. I still have one tucked away in one of my dresser drawers, talking about your problem made me think of it.
My silly two cents,
H

You get your $100! Geez, I know pregnant women can be grumpy but sheesh... I hope you don't live in my town, you butt-kicker!

In my VERY LIMITED experience, pantyliners or even pads are lovely for that kind of thing. In my case it was the run-off from progesterone suppositories... (because nothing says pregnant! like pills for your vagina!)

Oh, don't you worry about that. I'm nowhere near you. I do, however, live withing shiver-distance of 'singlemomof4'; and she should fear me indefinitely.

HA! More like laughing indefinitely , eternally at the thought that she actually thinks she could take me!

Now I am not a betting person but I would bet she's never been pryed off her 17 yr old sister by her much stronger much bigger bf while only weighing in at approx. 100lbs! I may be lil but like DD I am fully capable of kicking her butt!

So now that we have definitely figured out Blu might just back down lol I am now going to test this colouring scheme and up the post count just a lil more...Bare with me.
Oh but wait! I had something that worked great during my pregnancies for my stuffy /runny nose that I just remembered while bathing DD. Standing in steamy bathroom in the morning, its gets it all flowing and seems to force it out, blowing your nose about a million times during the process is annoying BUT once finished it has eliminated the need to continue so through out the day. It's the same as if you have a cold. This worked for me...who knows
post #20 of 21
I totally hear you on this. I woke up with a drool-covered pillow for the first time ever a week or so ago. My nose is driving me crazy, too. It's sore from being blown so much.
