Caleb lines up his toys, he always has, and we know now that it has something to do with the fact that he is on the autistic spectrum, but now instead of just lining them up in any way, he sorts them into size and type. He would do it before, but not always, but now he is doing it for every line he makes.
He will take all the stegosaurus toys and line them up by size, and and then all the iguanadons and do the same, and so on and so forth for all the dinosaurs. Then he moved onto the zoo animals, and sorts them by type and size.
I am so glad that he is now sorting them into a size/color/type because I see that he is recognizing that they are different, and even though he is putting them in a line, he is putting them in a specific order, which to me, shows that he has learned a great new skill. (maybe this will lead to more pretend play?)
Just wanted to share!
