If anyone does get round to ordering a legal back-copy, is there any chance you could order TWO legal back-copies and I can PP you? That sounds

I don't approve of square fields though, minimises the amount of hedgerows available to wildlife

ETA: If you go to their subscriptions and scroll down slightly, it does in fact give you an option for back issues as well as or instead of the subscription. 15.95 for Brits, a mere 7.95 for you Yanks including P and P. Fairly simple to use I'm so excited now

They've just added the link to buy that back issue. There was no link previously- I looked long and hard. lol I believe they were sold out.

Thank you for posting this- I'll go buy one today. I'd also be happy to order one for you as well.
Thanks,
Shai

eta: I was just admiring your knitteds the other day. And your new baby.

I have not made the knitted farmyard but am knitting farm animals after being inspired by the Living Crafts article. I have both the magazine, knitted farmyard book and another knitting farm animals book but I am using Debbie Bliss patterns for my animals, the instructions are so much easier to understand.

I am in the midst of creating a farmyard with thick felt pieces, sewing them together....I don't have the time to devote to knitting the pieces for the farmyard as this is a gift for my niece who is turning 4 at the end of this month.

I've no idea why I'm so into this idea- my dd is 9 and I have no immediate plans for another...

Nevertheless- I love this and would absolutely be into a "square swap"! I just ordered the issue too!

Thanks for the offers of help- I'm ashamed to say I had one of those awkward finger-clicking accidents and subscribed (including a back issue) and right now I'm so excited, it's ridiculous Roll on next Friday!

Glad to hear you're all set! I'm waiting for the week end.
I'm somewhat tempted to subscribe, I don't have any craft mag subs right now. But I'm awful for hoarding them. For some reason I can't seem to bring myself to get rid of old magazines. Be they 5 year old issues of "This Old House" or 3 year old issues of "Martha Stewart Living."
It's sad, really.

Well, you'll only get 4 issues of this one each year. Much less to hoard!

I have been (slowly)working on a knitted farmyard. I read the instructions in the Living Crafts magazine (which I found at Books a million) and I also read the Knitted Farmyard by Hannelord. I also read the pattern by Deb Bliss. Also, the Knitted Garden by Jan Messent. After too much reading, I decided to take out all my scrap yarn and my stitch dictionary and make up my own. So far, it has been fun. Loops for the grain field, crochet circle pond, seed stitch pasture, cables, ribs, etc. I will be using real patterns for the animals though. I will try to get pics next week.
I'd love to get into a swap for squares!

That sounds great - I'd love to see pics of it!

As for the swap, I've submitted the thread and it is waiting on approval. (Since when have swaps needed approval?) Check for a link in my siggy when it is open.

I'm working on my squares for school, and will post pictures when I get them done. I'm embroidering the veggies into the garden, and then need to felt the wheat field. It is really cute so far.
