Ocean Mary is here! Fast & furious, born in the car!

Ocean Mary was born in our Ford Escort en route to the hospital. I couldn't believe how fast things progressed, it was crazy! I was like a wild beast giving birth *on my hands and knees* in the front seat (pulled all the way down). EMT's arrived 7 minutes after her birth & we were taken to the closest hospital (not the one we were heading for), but everything went great. I needed one small stitch (in an odd place) & that's it. The hospital was totally accommodating to our wishes for declining the bath & hep B, etc. and she roomed in with us the whole time So, all in all, it wasn't exactly what we expected, but I think it was a great birth. I feel very empowered! I"ll post the whole story later (after I get some sleep!) & some pictures!

we live about two hours from town and so i've been thinking about a car birth this whole pregnancy (kinda like a home birth but different!) and it's great to hear that someone had one and it went so well.
