The nurses wouldn't let me push for 10 minutes while we waited for the doctor to come, during that time one of them did perineal massage. I did not tear and I'm wondering how much the waiting and letting baby crown without me pushing thru contractions helped me not tear? They were not providing counter-pressure on the perineum. Or would I have not torn anyway, or is it a who knows situation?
