This is an article about Birth Rape, or traumatic birth experiences caused by physical or verbal assault by a care provider.

I know that these experiences often lead to post-partum depression, and wanted to include it in this forum.

This is an area that needs more attention. There are a lot of terrible things that happen in mainstream obstetrics and not enough questioning or validating of womens feelings.


Even if birth rape isn't committed, women with a history of sexual abuse can have a lot of issues with child birth and PPD. I think it is good to have an open dialog with these topics.
