The World's most awesome scarf

Yes, indeed, I have done it.

OK, I know, you're thinking - woo hoo, a striped garter-stitch scarf. Yippee. (What the heck is so awesome about that?!?!)

But WAIT. Walk away a little bit, so you're not looking at it straight on. Oh-HO! What have we here?!?!

Aaaand...crouch down a bit, and POW!! It's The Presence! Giant hands reaching down from the sky, striking terror and contrition in the hearts of all who witness it!!! Not to mention, the NIN looks totally badass

(This was done in shadow (or illusion) knitting. The color changes are made by alternating which sections of each row are done in garter stitch, and which are done in stockinette.)

It's pretty darn easy, once you understand what you're doing. The hard part was figuring out what size grid to use to graph out the pattern to begin with - the book I have (Shadow Knitting) didn't have a THING about creating your own illusion patterns in it!
I'll post the pattern once I get it all scanned in - it'll be for free, since it uses a logo in it.

You made your own grid? Bow down...

Wow i havent seen anything like this before, very cool!

WOW! I am totally impressed. I saw a really cool one done with the snakey looking thing from the Harry Potter books, in green and black.

This is soooo kick ass. If I'm lucky maybe I can figure out how to make one of these for my friend in NC- she is totally a NIN nut.

Superb job on this, btw. My socks are still recovering.
