I want to make some of my prefolds into fitteds. I have a pattern athat I want to use. What I am wondering about is, I want to use my old recieving blankets as a "backing" to the prefolds to make them cute. How would I make sure that the blankets will absorb moisture? I've washed them all ove the last year in fabric softener because I didn't know I would use them this way. Should I strip them? How would you strip that kind of fabric?

I would wash them on hot a few times (w/o detergent) and maybe throw some vinegar into the wash.
