She was killed in a rollover. Her 2 young daughters were with her. The 8 yr old suffered some internal injuries and had been life-flighted to a hospital in our city. (They live an hour away.) The girls will be ok. The younger one only had bump and bruises. She's 3.

DH and I have been crying all afternoon.

Thanks, Sarah. Like I told you in PM, we've known them for 10 yrs, the kids were friends, etc. We not only knew her & her dh, but their extended family, too.

This isn't supposed to happen!!! Moms can't die. Dads can't die. They just can't.

I'm gonna go see the 8 yr old and the dad tomorrow at the hospital. I won't stay long because he got overwhelmed with everyone being there tonight, but I want to see Dylan (the child) and say hi to Chase ad let them know we're here.

I guess we'll have another funeral to attend soon. (Another friend of ours died on Christmas day. It just sucks.)

I am so sorry. What an awful tragedy. I hope the family has a very strong support system and I'm sure that will include your family as well.

Click on it to zoom in or out. The person on the gurney by the ambulance is the 8 yr old. The first EMT on the scene was also a family friend.

Dylan, the 8 yr old, keeps asking for her mom and saying, "Mommy was dangling." I was so hoping she was unconscious. No child needs to see that. Poor thing. Her little sister keeps asking, "Where's Margaret?" She never called her mom. What a kid,

That's so heartbreaking. I'm so sorry for the loss of a mother! I really hope that the 8 year old gets well soon. Please PM me if you need someone to lean on or just need to talk to someone!

Thank you, Blu Razzberri. I appreciate the offer. I'm still kind of numb and in shock. I keep crying off and on.

Dylan ( 8 yr old) was released from the hospital this evening. I went to see her this afternoon while she was still in the hospital. She was SO EXCITED to see ds & dd! I walked in and she said, "Hey! Aren't you [Ds]'s mom?" Then she asked to see them. We stayed about an hour and the kids all had fun and Dylan told my kids to stop playing several times because it was making her laugh and laughing hurt! She was in good spirits.

She told me, "My mom died." I choked up, tears welled up in my eyes, I just whispered, "I know, baby." Then we briefly discussed how she'd see her mom again and God remembers her mom and good stuff like that. Later on as we were preparing to leave she suddenly got a look of mild alarm and said, "My dad can't work anymore!" (He's self employed in construction.) I was by her bed, her aunt and uncle and 4 other friends were at the foot of the bed talking w/ one another. I asked why and she told me, "Because he has to take care of me and my baby sister!" I explained that daddy CAN work and aunt [name] and her grandparents all all their friends will help take care of her & Grayson. Even though mommy isn't here all of her friends and family are here and they will help. I reminded her that God knows when even a sparrow falls to the ground so he definitely remembers her mom. My kids broke the tension when dd asked, "What's a sparrow?" Dylan and ds said, "It's a bird!" Then we got a giggle out of how the word "bird" sounds. She seemed better after that and we left with the promise that I would bring her a present in the morning.

I'll bring it Friday when we see her, since she was released already.

Chase, the dh, has been described as "a shell." I've yet to speak to him personally.

The services are Friday. A friend is getting my kids off the bus and tkaing them to her house.
