The services went wonderfully and Margaret was paid a beautiful tribute. Her casket was a gorgeous metallic mauve color w/ distressed gold trim. There were so many flowers. So many. I started counting (I get anxiety and need to distract myself, so I counted) and lost track somewhere around 20 arrangements.
Her husband... That poor man had to be physically supported by his dad when he walked to his seat, when he walked to the car, when he walked to the graveside. It was completely heartbreaking. His brother in law (Margaret's brother), too, was always right by him and always had an arm around him.
Margaret's dad had tears in his eyes when I gave him a hug. He told me, "She was just such a precious, precious thing."
She was such a beautiful person who touched so many lives and was so well-liked. She and Chase were always a wonderful couple and a great team.
I talked with her sister, Elizabeth, and referred to her as "the next best thing to mom."
I need to include Elizabeth & the girls in outings w/ my kids because she doesn't have any of her own and now she's become a surrogate mom to these beautiful little people and we need to include Chase in things we do, as well. We can't neglect any of them.
