Now I know why I unraveled that orange wool sweater!!! Between the goldfish and the pumpkin bags...
I wonder if I should double strand and use bigger needles and then felt it... hmmm.

It would probably work well felted, being such a small and tightly knit thing. I can't say for sure, though, since I'm allergic to wool so I've never felted (but really really want to!)
