Okay so for 8 weeks I thought I was having a boy. Nope, she's a girl. And I had a boy name Trey Caspian but now it looks like we need something more girly.

So far I like Bella and Clemintine. So what are some of your top choices?

Our girl name is Hope Elizabeth. That one was easy, DH has had it picked out since high school (before we even met).

Claire Marie (our #1), Mara, Mallory, Melia. I do like your choice of Bella a lot.

I love the name Bella!

I think I missed something. When did you find out he was a she?

Our dd is Faith Devon. If this one is a girl, she'll be Lenore Calais. Other names we've considered are Ariadne, Bridget, and Eowyn, but we don't know middle names to go with those yet. I love Eowyn, but DH is a little hesitant to actually use it. She's one of my favorite literary characters, and it's close to my name, Bronwyn, and so it sounds very Celtic.

Hmmm, I haven't really been thinking about names solidly yet, but ones that sound good to me are:

Sophia
Madeline
Samantha
Maura

I'm trying to think equally of girl/boy names in my head so either way when we find out I can start thinking names over .

How funny to think it was a boy, then get a girl!

Bronwyn is one of my very favorite names! I have a character in a novel named Bronwyn. It's just so lovely! If I weren't so absolutely set on the name Avalon for a girl It would be at the very top of my list.

on Saturday at 20 weeks. Turns out at 12 weeks we all have a little projection! I can't believe that 1st tech said she was 100 percent sure.

on another board i belong to, one woman suggested printing out the social security top 500 list, cross out everything you hate and then give the list to your husband. sounds good in theory... i printed out the top thousand and came up with exactly one name neither of us HATE...but we don't love it. anyway, it's a thought. i think nymbler.com was the other site i looked at and liked. good luck!

But we decided on Olivia Caroline for a girl.

We are thinking Rowan because its the only one we both even kinda like.

I'd like something a little more girly though. I tend to shy away from GN names.

Perhaps we'll just make a list of contenders and decide after s/he is born, that is of course if I can get dh to agree to anything at all!

Our girl name is Caroline Tulip

We used our favorite girl name for DD1, Amelie Salome, and have no idea what to do for our next baby if it's a girl (not finding out). We're thinking about Juniper, Olivia or Olive... All of our other favorites were taken by families at church within the last year or so (and we're pretty involved there, so we'll just use the names later, for future kids). Those names were: Selah, Alice, and Harper. Those are all the names I remember right now.

A few weeks ago Spark posted a link to a neat website that lets you pick your fav names out of a list then it generates other names that are in the same catagorie. So we did that, then went to the SSA top 100 list and printed that.

Fist, I went through and crossed off all the names from the first list that were on the top 100. I also crossed off anything I hated, then had hubby cross off anything he hated.

We added a couple of names that we've been tossing around that we kinda like (that are also NOT of the top 100) and so thats how we've come up with our list.

Now, I really don't feel like we're any further alon in the process, but I feel a little better that we're making at least some progress!

The names on our list so far are:
Elanor
Fiona
Gillina/Jillian
Josephine
Meredith (at the top, but no good nicknames - hubby has an aunt Mary, and we'd rather NOT name the baby after her...)
Mira ("mir" like in mirror)
Miranda
Delilah
Genevieve
Gwendolen

DD#1 is Bridgitt, and DD#2 is Rheannon so we'd like to find something similar in feeling to their names.

Posey
