Anything different in the environment, foods, new meds which could have lowered the threshold, anti-seizure med levels?

I was just reading that chiropractic adjustments could help with ear infections. I didn't know. My friend is a critical care nurse and her daughter had had 6 rounds of antibiotics for a recurring, constant ear infection. They had her scheduled for tubes to be inserted. As a last resort, she saw our homeopathist and she proscribed a constitutional remedy. They returned to the doctor, the mama had NOT given the last round of antibiotics. The little one was sleeping better. The doctor said 'oh, the antibiotics worked'. She explained that they had seen the homeopathist and given her these little pellets. The doctor laughed at her and said they couldn't work. But, she has had NO recurrence of ear infections. Period.

Our homeopathist first learned about homeopathy for her son with ear infections. Then she because schooled about homeopathy. I am a complete believer. Although, I still do not understand how it works. We are all on constitutional remedies and are rarely ever sick.

Breast milk in the ear or garlic oil is supposed to help too.

She has a submucous cleft palate which is causing the ear infections. She gets seen by the cleft palate team on Friday.

I understand. Homeopathy works in conjunction with allopathy. It helps to strengthen the vital force by matching a person's constitution to a remedy of like with like. Every little bit helps.

What do you treat with? WE're getting them due to reflux from Elecare/gtube and tea tree oil/grapefruit seed extract drops (in a base of glycerin IIRC) has helped us. Gets rid of them, and keeps them at bay while we work out the issues. DOn't know if it'd help her any considering why she gets them, but I totally know how much ear infections suck! about the seizure!! I'm soo sorry!

That sucks.

sorry today is being so sucky. I hope once the cleft palate gets some work, she can make some progress past all this poor baby (btw, i know shes not a baby it more a term of enderment)

I hope your cleft palate issue resolution also helps with the ear infections, AND the seizures issue. Poor little girl (and mama!).

Yes, they do. They really do.

Diastat days are the worst. I'm terrified of diastat days.

We are up to now 6mls of trileptal twice a day.

This is as high as it gets before med #3 that has failed.

I think our "miracle med" was #5 or 6 on the list of meds we tried. Keep trying--once you find the right one, a lot of the stress will melt away.

Yup. They indeed suck big time. We are right now at the EMU getting my dd's 5th VEEG in 15 months. The nurses and doctors here actually know us by name and remember her history. I handed the new resident my 11-page "Cliff Notes" of dd's seizure/med journal and she looked startled...the nurse standing nearby just chuckled because she's seen my typewritten notes several times.

Kodama: I hope you can get the infections cleared up quickly and get back to a seizure-free life.

Yes. Yes they do.
