What are your experiences with using arnica on a swollen cervix.

If you don't use this...what other methods do you try?

I have always read that when using arnica to treat a swollen cervix, it is Arnica montana homeopathic tablets that are used. The actually Arnica plant is never to be taken internally (except for the homeopathic tablets), and Arnica gel/oil/cream/salve is never to be used on broken skin, so I do not believe it is safe to actually use on the cervix.

Any one else with herbal experience have additional thoughts about this?

I have heard of midwives dissolving the tablets in a little bit water, and then drawing up the solution in a syringe, removing the needle, then squirting the solution around the cervix. I personally have never tried that, though.

For swollen cervix, I have seen success with getting moms into knees/chest (with her butt up in the air) and giving mom (orally) Gelsemium 200C. This helps take some pressure off the cervix as well as helping to wiggle the baby out of the pelvis some to encourage baby to reposition her/his head some.

we use 200c of arnica dissolved in about 6oz of water, for mom to sip on between ctx until all gone, you are not suppose to metal spoons,it adversely affects it. we side lie mom for about 20 min or as tol.we also put them in what i call extreme hands and knees shown to me by a chiro. the mom is on hands and knees on the bed, then you bring over a chair/cooler/bench that is several inches lower andnext to the bed, place her elbows on it, so her bottom pointed toward the ceiling with her back angeled toward the floor, make sure this prop doesnt slide, keep her like this for 20 min or as long as she can tol. my husband built the bc a heavy wooden bench we put pillows down for elbows.if i get smarter and talented i can take a picture and post. good luck

Could you just place the Arnica tablets up by the cervix and let them disolve on their own? It seems like it would be wet enough and those tablet disolve really easily. Is there a reason this wouldn't be a wise idea?

I took homeopathic Arnica orally (popped tablet[s] in my mouth) for a swollen lip of cervix and rested in a reclined position (because this was different than the hands-and-knees I had been using) for about 10 - 15 minutes - swelling completely reduced and I was able to push past lip with assistance from my MW.

another midwife told me about using evening primose oilon the cervix, I tried it once and it seem to help. I have used arnica too, never worked. Also, I tried ice once and that helped.
