Blood Clot?

Well, baby Ella was born at home 24 hours ago. All went perfectly, birth story coming when things calm down a little.
So far, I'm doing great, a bit tired, of course, but otherwise fine. Just now though I passed a huge (like fist sized) blood clot. It didn't hurt, I'm not in any pain other than the normal pressure and uterine contractions while nursing. I'm not bleeding crazy, it's tapered off quite a bit since yesterday. So is it normal to pass a blood clot? It didn't happen with dd1, so I didn't know. THanks!

I passed a huge clot when I was still in the hospital after DD#2 was born -- so, probably 12-14 hours later? Anyway, it was right after nursing and the size of it really freaked me out. It was very big!

The nurse even got a little freaked by it. The doctor said as long as it didn't happen again, I was fine. And it didn't happen again. Thankfully!!

I remember in the hospital with DS them tellling me to tell them about anything larger than a quarter? Or maybe a golfball? You might just want to check in with your midwife to be safe, but if it's the only one it's likely not a problem.

i lost a clot, or piece of membrane, or something on day 4 which freaked me out.. and i'm still seeing blood on day 7.. but not a lot, and not when i go to bathroom, just on pad. normal? okay? yes? no? hmm..

sometimes blood will kinda pool up when you have been sitting or resting then it comes out as a clot once you stand or get up to pee. did you feel faint or dizzy?

also, i am sure your MW checked that your all of your placenta was released after the baby came. so, it shouldn't be a piece of it but you can ask her about that when she come for a post partum visit. you should be okay but calling her wouldn't hurt if it would put your mind at ease.
