would you become a LLL leader - Page 2

Neat thread. My DD just turned 10 mos yesterday. I've been thinking of becoming a LLLI leader. I'm wonder what it entails. I've been collecting AP/BFing, etc, books for a year.

NAK
We have a new LLL Leader in our area that is probably in her 60s! She obviously hasn't breastfed for a number of years, lol.

Most definitely! The LLL leader at the group I attended had 3 between 3 and 9, and had just weaned her youngest.

I'm another one who thinks you should go for it! In our Chapter, we've got moms from all walks of life and I think that it really helps to round out the group. Moms of young babies offer peer support in a way only nursing moms can. Moms of older children are often able to devote more time and energy to the group. And then there are the grandmas who have been with LLL for 20 or 30+ years who are such great sources of information and inspiration!

The positive to having a LLL with weaned children is that she can pay more attention to the women she is supporting and that she has extensive experience.
